Re: fire. flood. cyclone. earthquake. what's the worst your've experienced?
more than 200 people died already at this bushfire at australia.... i got real sad about that
i have never experienced any of these natural desasters.... we dont have much of that in brazil (earthquake and twisters are toooo rare, but already had it) The worst problem here are the floods. In my birth city, that happens all the time... <_< thank god i dont live there since i was a kid, and that doesnt happen in the area i used to live, anyway...

Re: fire. flood. cyclone. earthquake. what's the worst your've experienced?
Worst I've ever experienced is extreme rain, I was little and the rain was COMING DOWN HARD, thankfully, my house wasn't close to a flood zone.
The scariest thing I've came close to was a large fire behind my old house on a hill (the house was smack-dab next to a hill), it was so bad the fire department was up there for a while, during the night...it was pretty, but I was scared.

i wouldnt say that ratchet you might get something in the end XD, but seriously this bush fire seems to be quite bad over in Austrailia, we dont have disasters apart from floods in the UK and that dosen't do much realy but the fire you can see the images of it destroying things it just must be awful being near it at this time.

Re: fire. flood. cyclone. earthquake. what's the worst your've experienced?
We had a flood where the decking was crushed the rain and the room with all the electronics including the copmuter(ohhhh *bleep*!!!!!!) had been ripped off the house and been pulled apart and discarded through what was left of the garden and we could never find the computer only a few keys from the board and some wires(ohhh more *bleep*!!!!!).One half of the garage including the freakin door was throwen ontop of the neighbours house we even had to live in a hotel while it was being fixed. they siad that my girlfriend got out out her house before it swept down by tons colled lava (still hot!) 345 people died that day they said that it as a terrible disater worse than the now mounting death toll in the slattlnd revoulution. My brothers new house was crushed by a falling building and he was trapped on the road for 6 hours,he was'nt the only one!

No offence but a flood, earthquake and a volcano erupting all at the same time it does sound a bit unrealistic to me.

Worst ive been in is the Canberra bush fires around 2003 or something. Only thing that saved my dads house was a big hil (Mt Taylor) that acted as a windbreaker

Maybe you don’t remember it, but didn’t Sydney have some severe hailstorms about a decade or so ago?

Worst thing I can think of is the floods in Mackay on 15th February 2008, which was caused by the monsoon trough sitting over the town. The immediate neighbourhood around my home was okay, but most of the rest of the town, being really flat and close to sea level, went under water for a few hours while the rain bucketed down. The sewerage system, phone lines and power failed, and there was widespread water damage to cars and houses.

Re: fire. flood. cyclone. earthquake. what's the worst your've experienced?
I've experienced an earthquake, but it wasnt that big. (it happened a few years ago here)
But I do live in an evacuation zone (florida gets a lot of hurricanes, but I live in the center of florida so I dont get it either as often or hardly any damage from it)
But theres a lot of drought here also, so its always really hot and there are a lot of fires that break out b/c of that.
(when I moved down here it used to get cold when necessary and hot when necessary, but now it justs weird) other than small passing rain clouds, which is nothing unusual.

Re: fire. flood. cyclone. earthquake. what's the worst your've experienced?
Yeah, I live in Miami, and Florida always seems to be the "testing zone" for hurricanes. (Meaning they don't become that much of a threat until they leave the state. When Katrina hit us it was a category 2 or so then quickly turned into a 5 as it approached New Orleans.)
I live a bit close to the Everglades and that has fires from time to time which doesn't really affect me, but you can clearly see the thick smoke and sometimes the area becomes ashy.
I've experienced a few floods but they weren't all that bad, or at least I don't remember them being all that bad. The worst one I remember was back in 8th grade, but it only started to get really bad when I was already back home. (school was canceled for only a day I think) It produced a hilarious story from one of my favorite teachers of all time, who said she actually had to SWIM to her apartment from the parking lot because she was desperate to get her rented car to safety, and she lost her pants in the proccess, and her mom freaked out when she came in all wet without her pants on shouting "OH MY GOD, YOU'RE NAKED!!" There were also gators swimming around the streets during that flood. I saw three of them resting on a car, no lie.
Honestly, the worst I've gotten was hurricane Wilma, which was I think, a category 3 hurricane. Except it came at night and I slept through the whole thing, hahahaha. I only woke up a few times because of the loud noises, but then immediately went back to sleep. My parents were all like "how could you sleep through all that noise?!" Then the electricity was out for a couple of days. We took walks and realized all the stop signs in our neighborhood had flown to a nearby mural. A lot of the trees had also fallen and it was weird because with them out of the way we could see the higher-class area we normally couldn't see right from our windows. Our dog also suffered through this beause we weren't allowed to take her on walks due to safety procedures because dogs can go to piles of leaves or something like that and loose cables could have been hiding there. I know I have pictures of the semi-destroyed areas somewhere but they're probably in my old hard drive which is slowly dying right now. ![]()

Re: fire. flood. cyclone. earthquake. what's the worst your've experienced?
The worst that hit the U.K was probaly the floods in 2006 in the south, but where i live the worse things that have happened are the snow in February and also some strong wind a while back which brought a telegraph pole down.
