Yes it's fine for debates and such...but after awhile it does get rather annoying.....but then again what else do we have to debate about seeing as how nothing is really going on in the Spyro world.

There hasn't been as much conflict as there was one time at Spyroforum. I loved that 30 page debate topic, too fun!
But yeah, when your waiting between games, all you can really do is:
"I think the next game should keep free flight, and add in some RPG elements"
"What is with free flight? It sucks because if it has limitations its awkward, and if it doesn't, it wrecks the platforming, And SWpyro is not RPG"
Basicly just arguing what should and what should not be in the next game.
I'd say half of all forums is conflict.

I haven't really had time to read trough all those pages, so I don't really know what has been said. But my personal opinion about this subject is that they stick with the "Legend" story. It's way better then the old ones, even though they may have had better gameplay, I prefer a good story actaully, and the story they started to build in this new trilogy is actaully really nice. And I couldn't see a new Spyro game without Cynder, that would be horrible.
No, my final say is; Keep to the new and fresh stuff and let us have the old games like nothing more than a happy memory, eh?

Well yeah it's a forum lol...everyone is suppose to be giving their own opinions on how they think Spyro should evolve or perform or whatever else....and yes even with what little taste I did get.....their use to be much more conflict on this forum about it....but seeing as how DotD just came out then...it wasn't a surprise that fierce debates were being held. Now you can't argue about it without getting in much trouble haha.....not that I really care.

That and some of the good debating members have now departed.

I've thought about the old and new series for a long time. As much as I would love to see the original series return, I highly doubt it will happen. And I have to admit the Spyro fanbase has largely grown since the reboot happened. I personally don't really like the new games, I love the originals, but no matter what I will always support Spyro, and I will buy any new games that will come out in the future. I just don't want to see the whole franchise end. hmm

Noone wants to see it end, i think one thing the 3 sides can agree on, is that they dont want spyro to end.

IMO the new games are 10x better then the old games. I wish it was less linear, but I am glad they made the change. TEN was a bit worse then I expected, but DotD is the best one so far.

I hope they keep the free-flight and co-op, I like how it effects the gameplay alot.

I was a spyro fan since the first came out, but even I dont want the original three to come back. hmm I can understand like a special anniversary or whatever where they redo the old games as a one time thing, but I seriously dont want them to keep continuing that series. what I think is be grateful that theyre still making spyro games and not just...dumping him off the side of the curb like they do w/ a lot of video games. (even IF the game was a success) I wish I could name a few right now but I'm too busy to. sad
but again, this is all my view. yikes

Well let's all be thankful that the series is still continuing in some way or another...regardless of what company is doing it. As said before....much better off that it didn't just fall right off a cliff.

Yes LoS did boost it to a degree...the only realy damage it did was dividing the fanbase.

You know, if they didnt make the TLOS series, not many people would have really payed any more attention to spyro than they did w/ the series inbetween. Did they like, disappear?! Or they're all, "bring back old spyro" um, like bring ripto back for some unnecessary reason after he was confirmed dead in 2 and have more rushed games be produce that shear down the very wooden plank that spyro stands on?

bleh, I'm just wondering. Its just all so strange to me. O_o If people werent so narrow (or broad, if thats the word, I get confused between the two) maybe I would have something better to say.

So long as their are two seperate viewpoints to argue from then the fighting will never end. Thankfully the heated debates that once occupied this forum have slowed down quite a bit....but some people obviously prefer the older games and always will. I agree that the older games overall were a much better gaming experience in several ways.....and at first I did shun the new ones because I didn't think anything could replace what had been so great....but I learned to open my mind to new concepts...and I enjoy the series for what it has now become..

Many people don't have open minds like that and that is their choice....but I prefer both series for what qualities they hold....and I'm a fan of the franchise first. So long as Spyro is continued....then I will be satisfied.

True, and I agree. smile It took me a while to get used to the new spyro, but I decided to try it out before I had a firm opinion on the whole thing. And I'm really glad I did.
I've loved spyro since the first, but after ETD I lost all interest w/ great disappointment, but trying out TEN I fell in love w/ spyro all over again. smile
I remember when the forum was all mad about that stuff, but I'm glad I came back when its not as bad as before.

I was about to say something about opening minds to new concepts (and giving things a try w/o only concentrating on the negatives all the time) but you beat me to it. XD I just cant see how you couldnt have one, but people are people as far as I know. wink

Although I dont seem like it, I have an open mind too. Otherwise I would've completely rejected TLOS and wouldn't of followed the story. But I do talk about it. Make theories and even connect the series to the originals.
I just cant let go of the fact that the original old sopyro series was an awesome platform series with lots of great concepts, And I'd like that to continue over TLOS.

I too have an open mind, I gave it a chance, but I just don't like it because, well, it's a bad game. I can't help it if it's a bad game because I can't force myself to like it. An "open mind" in this case is more like "I don't like it but I can understand and accept why people like it" not "I like it because I have an open mind."

You can like it or dislike it for whatever reasons you have.....that's just they way humans are. In my rare case I always seem to be able to see the little good in something very bad....but that's just me.
