Dude, you have no right to bash them just because they have their crushes on animated characters. That's in line with bashing homosexuals because they do not love people that you think they should love (which, by the way, Christianity is often bashed for).

Err, no, that's not really the same. There's a big difference: animated characters aren't people. Yeah, it's wrong to "bash" anyone, but the "people" they're being told not to love aren't real, so I would argue it makes a bit more sense to bash that.

How is this bashing when all I was doing was telling the truth? Seriously like I said in that post I don't care what you do or who you like. All I can do is tell you how I feel on the subject with my honest opinion...which is that being attracted to an animated character will not help you in the future. So really if you are calling that bashing then you are simply trying to go after my comments on a grander scale by accusing me of "hurting your feelings."

That's just reality. If you don't like that then don't read the post. Anyways I'm done with this topic.

Is it really that hard to understand? (In a curious and extremly non-offensive voice) I mean, look, it's pretty much the same as asking the question "Can you love someone without knowing them?", or the other way around "Can you love someone you haven't seen?", and yeah, both is quite possible. Loving a "pixel animated character" is pretty much the same, as either you may simply be attracted to the characters looks or you could love their personality (as in many games/movies you actaully get to know their personality pretty well), it's just the same as with real humans. Only the "real" part isn't there, but I don't think what ever in your brain that controls your emotions care.

Do I make any sense at all? :-P

I understand that it's possible or whatever you're trying to prove; all I'm saying is that it doesn't make much sense. Fictional characters, being fictional and all, don't exist, so it's pointless to "love" them instead of a real person.

Didn't say it had a point, did I? The seconde point I am trying to prove is that I at least never found any choice in who I am falling in love with, so to speak, so if you fall in love with a fictional charcter, there is nothing you can do about it, just like you can't do anything about who you're falling in love with in real either.

I think you're getting confused between love and attraction. It's pretty much impossible to "fall in love" with something that doesn't exist because you can not touch it, have conversations with it or care about its well-being. etc. etc.

Yeah, you may be right, except that you can care for it's well-being anyway, but hardly intervien if anything bad happense to it. But you may be right, though sometimes it's hard to tell the difference.
