Power failures

There was a widespread power outage across north Queensland (in Australia, around where I live) a couple of days ago, where a few cities and all the areas in between were blacked out. It was pretty hot without the fans and air-conditioning, but oddly eerie to see the neighbourhood so pitch black in the night.

Well, I was just wondering, what is the longest period of time that you have had no power? What's the reliability of the electricity where you live? What do you's get up to, when the power goes out? (for example, play monopoly? Go sight-seeing?) Do you have any epic stories?

hmm...we rarly get blackouts but they onyl alst a few mins not even lol we must be lucky

we have blackouts that last days. but that's rarely. I rely too much on electricity. but when we do get blackouts we usually use our telescope. it amuses me for hours.

The day after I got DotD, the power went out for a straight week. I almost suicided.

Power outages rarely happen where I live, aside from severe lightning. When it does go out, it seems to stay out for 4 hours, I once went without power for 2 days. I just pray my PSP is charged when the power goes out so I can play it.

Where I used to live we'd only have power outages when there was a thunderstorm.

Now I get them all the time (usually only in bad weather.) Lucky for me they never last too long.

Here in NH, our power went out for 3 weeks in December. Luckily we had a generator big_smile

i had never run out of power more than some hours... But when that happens, its good to go visit my friends and chat about any stupid thing. And scream a lot, too... auhauahuah

It goes out from time to time, from big storms and such. Usually comes back quickly enough.

Though there was one time... I'd just come home from renting a new game, and the power went out for 3 days. I was more annoyed that I couldn't play than anything else.

The last time I remember the power going out was about 4 or 5 years ago when I was at my old house. It only lasted a couple hours. We don't really have serious storms where I live.

Where I live we have alot balckouts last time there was a powercut it was because of a F4 tornado it may have been miles away it still knocked out the power for 2 weeks.
