Bully Problems

Hey y'all what's up?
I'm perfectly fine, but my poor sister isn't. She came home from school today and had a huge red swollen lump on the back of her head. I asked her what happened and she said some kid named Michael hit her in the back of the head with a wooden ruler about 13 inches long. She then told me yesterday in class, he threw a pen at her and a highlighter top and both hit her in the back of the head as well.

I really want to do something about this.... I just don't know what. I imagine if any of ur brothers or sisters were being tormented u'd certainly do something about it. She told her teacher and she said she'd keep an eye on the student. My sister did get the kid in trouble at his job and she's very sorry for that.... But if I was this Michael kid I certainly wouldn't being throwing things at people, but instead talk it out. She understands he's mad.... but goodness me!!!

Anyway this topic is open for anyone who has ideas or views on what my sister could do about this.

Btw: She's a senior in highschool and this kid's a junior.

Re: Bully Problems

Have her talk to her principal. I got beat up by a guy when I used to go to school. I hadn't told anyone for a year after it but I told my mom after a year who told my old principal, and I'm pretty sure she did something about it.

Re: Bully Problems

when i was younger, there was a guy who beat me averyday. I arrived home crying, then... Nothing worked out, not even the principal or his parents were capable to stop him... So, i moved to the afternoon class ¬¬
Maybe this kid is only trying to be noticed. Or hes just a bad kid, like the one i said. Figure that out talking with him. If that dont work, well... sometimes, unfortunately, the only way is getting into violence. Im not sayng u to punch the kid, only to threaten him. Put him in the wall and intimidate him.
But i really preffer the first alternative

Re: Bully Problems

That used to happen to me all the time.  I solved it simply: guns.
Not at first, first I just gave him a Pepsi at lunch and tried to be nice.  That failed.
No, not the real guns, the airsoft guns.  I did it with some snipers and a pistol.
I ran up to him and shot him in the nads with the pistol, then all my friends sniped him from the trees.  That worked, cause now he's scared of me.
War stuff is fun. smile

Re: Bully Problems

That seems like a really immature thing for that guy to do, being a junior in high school.

I'm not really sure what to do in the situation; I was never really bullied, but you could probably just tell your sister to try and talk to the guy, and maybe work something out. If that doesn't work, is there a way to report students at your school?

Re: Bully Problems

Well...these are very delicate situations to handle...but one good thing about having gone through High School and everything...I have dealt with many situations like this.

First off my sympathies go out to your sister...that's really nothing that a student should have to tolerate on top of normal every day stress factors...but I guess I can suggest a couple ways to handle this.

You can first try talking to this kid...like several others have suggested. If it doesn't work one on one between her and him....then go with her. If she is having trouble dealing with this kid one on one then have her get together with friends or others around her that can offer her protection and support.

If the kid still tries to make these cruel gestures...then report him to the principle or to an administrator of some kind. If they don't move to handle the situation...then let your parents know about it. This is something in schools that needs to be handled effeciently and quickly.

Again if this stuff keeps continuing...then I can suggest taking some kind of personal defense classes. Which of course I don't recommend you use unless you absolutly have reason to do so. Other then that try having her stay with friends or with a group when this kid is around...be there to support her and let her know that she is not alone when it comes to dealing with such miserable people.

If you have any other incidents like this I would be happy to try and help out...

Re: Bully Problems

even if you talk to him, i believe it wont work at the moment. Maybe it take some time, maybe that kid needs some help... or a kick in the *** (just kidding)

Re: Bully Problems

Well nothing ever usually works at the moment..but if the kid needs help then people should have taken action with that already...but staying in a nice group and away from him will def force him to pick different targets...or just report him.

And yeah if it was me I prolly would kick his "beep" too lol....but that's not the wise thing to do..

Re: Bully Problems

I've had bully problems before, and trust me, go see the principal first. While you might end up being called a "tattletale" or something to that effect, it's way better than having the status quo as it currently is. After some time, you'd be likely more respectable too amongst your peers and bullies even. Don't however lower yourself to the same level as a bully and do something equally stupid. Also, it's also all too common for parents to overreact and make a big thing even bigger (threats to other parents, teachers, etc.) - which would only serve to exemplify being known as a "tattletale". So have your parents take the situation seriously (especially if injury is involved), but don't have them go head over heels too.

Re: Bully Problems

Humiliate the kid.

Get some kids, or do it yourself to plan something that will humiliate him in front of everyone. That should teach that kid a lesson. Then meet the kid face to face and scare him, don't hurt him though, his too young and you can get into serious trouble. But hey, you're not going to hurt him! wink

Don't see the principle, unless it gets worse of course. But enjoy yourself humiliating him!

Re: Bully Problems

Violence isn't the answer...it never is...unless their is no other way to getting the point across. Even then she is a girl in high school that is bullied by a guy...I don't see a fight ending to well there. At least have friends around you who can support you if you need it.

But you should never get physical unless you are well within your rights to do so....and you have no other choice.

Re: Bully Problems

This kid should not even be touching her. That rotten slime. Guys should never hit girls it makes them look exactaly like a jerk and a son of a jakal. But like RedDragonX and bmah said you could go tell the principal there is nothing to be ashamed of in that. And if that dosen't work try having a group of friends having support and people who care about you around will make your sister feel better I'm sure, plus the bully would probaly be scared of so many people and will not try anything and the problem should fade out. violence will not solve anything. Good luck and I hope this problem dies down.

Re: Bully Problems

Well today, her teacher came up to her and told her that the administrator was aware of the situation and would do something about it. The jerk didn't harass my sister today thankfully, but he kind of just blank-stared at her.

Thanks u guys! I really appreciate all ur advice and so does my sister.

Violence is sometimes the only answer, but it shouldn't be the first or only response, IMO. If the school system can't do anything about it, you'll have to defend yourself, of course.

Re: Bully Problems

she should ask the teacher for a different seat, or if she doesn't have assigned seats, then just sit away from the kid. This simple change rid me of most of my annoyances.

Re: Bully Problems

No one bothers me becuase I am mute in a corner. And then I am capable of just ignoring peole unless they *bleep* me off. And when they do, I turn....evil. My advice is to just continue to yell at him and bash him until he cries.

Re: Bully Problems

For the whole of my life up to the end of 2007, I used to be a REAL crybaby. Anything that angered me would make me cry. I HATED it and it was a source of ALOT of bullying. Most of it wasn't physical, but just irritating me for something stupid I did. I also used to be a semi-emo. I didn't care what ANYONE thought of me I just did what I wanted to do. And That made me extremely unpopular (being yourself doesn't work, I've tried it).
It got better when I made some friends with some younger kids. Once I went to highschool, in 2007 things were much better. I made plenty of Asian friends who also loved video gaming. I still got bullied, but I was sort of more popular.
2008 had a lot LOT less bullying, as My crying had seemed to stop (Puberty to blame obviously), I still was the target as I never fought back and I hardly ever told a teacher, as I was sick of being called a "snitch".
So yeah, thats my life story, hopefully they will stop the bullying. As you get more into puberty it becomes easier, and I am glad I was out of that semi-emo phase >_<

Re: Bully Problems

Bullying can still come at any points during HS...but yeah if you have many friends then staying with the group will greatly help with such problems. The more alone you are the bigger the target you will be.
