Democrat or Republican

So what would it be for you?

I'll have to say I'm a Rebublican.

I'll defend my statement and also ask you why you hate P. Bush. I may be biased but I still haven't goten one single ligitiment reason that I can't attack in some way saying it is false.

This is an interesting subject and I expect some fire in this topic.

I'm 14. Please no !@#$% cusing!   lol

Otherwise I'm fine with anything in the way of posts

Re: Democrat or Republican

My views usually align more closely with the Republicans, but I don't blindly agree with everything they say. I try to look at issues from a neutral viewpoint first and decide from there. As for people hating Bush, I think it's just the cool thing to do now. I don't think he's the smartest person in the world, and I do understand that some people just disagree with him, but he's not nearly as awful as some people try to make him seem.

(Also, guys, please remember to post respectfully. Debating is fine, but no flaming. You can help by reporting posts whose authors are clearly trying to start fights; reacting to them is not necessary.  wink )

Re: Democrat or Republican

I'm not any of those, I'm free-lance pal.

I also don't see why people hate Bush, IMO he is acturely one of the greatest people alive.

Hes not my favorite P. but he is in the number five slot of my favorites.
My most favorite P. is P. Teddy Roosevelt.

You're probably right on that one.

I voted Republican because I agree with most of the things they believe in.

Re: Democrat or Republican

I must say that I am probobly the most Repulican guy you will find in the North East. I hate liberals and I'm not very fond of Democrats....but yeah I really don't want to argue about it because we are all human and entitled to what we want to view.

President Bush did what he did to defend this country..and he did the right thing through all of the crap this country has been through. (Huricane Katrina, 9-11, economic crisis) and he did it while staying true to his views. Much rather keep terrorists over there then on our home soil where they can kill us.

I fully agree with RedDragonX, and id like to add to Stormy's comment that people just seem to think it is "fashionable" (Right word?) to bash George Bush.

Re: Democrat or Republican

Fashionable or not, G. W. Bush is still an idiot, and he did not do most of the right things IMO, such as the decision to point fingers to a country that had no weapons of mass destruction. That just caused more tension than necessary. It's mainly been keeping the hostility at bay afterwards, which may have been partially mitigated by making better decisions. Yes, I do have an understanding that being the president is crazy hard work and will give you white hairs by the end of the term, but that's not enough to give me sympathy for Bush.
It'll be interesting to see how Obama does. I hope people will know that the high expectations of fixing the economy will not be quickly realized. So I have high but hopefully realistic expectations for him.
I'm not going to pull strongly towards one side or the other. I'll just watch and see what happens in the upcoming years.

Re: Democrat or Republican

O'Bama is almost an insperational story and now the whole weight of the world might as well fall on his shoulders.
About he war in Iraq. I believe this is the same as the war in Vietnam was. Rather or not you think lives are worth other people's freedoms your on one side. If not you are on the other. America was built on this foundation but over time more and different people have come to this nation with differnt views. There is no right answer there.

as for Bush lol this is a nice list I compiled.

False thinking about Bush
-
-Katrena was out of his hands. That was F.E.M.A.'s mess.
-Economy was going down sometime no matter what. Banks were stupid and gave out loans to people without jobs. You just don't do that
-Anything that Bush did had to be approved by a Democratic Filit buster in the first term and more in the next. (Neither party seems to like the other... Neither care about the country I think. If it's a good thing their party will block it and them pass it themselves unless it's a no brainer.)
-

P. Bush was (and is) the leading supporter to African health and food funding as president.

People who didn't like the war had to find any little excuse they could to make him look bad.

All the News stations are slanted Democrat besides FOX. And FOX is slanted Republican. (Shouldn't opinion be left out of the news?)

That's a small list I pulled out of my head. I won't use facts because that is over kill.

Nobody is a green party or something? lol. (not surprised)

Also. No I'm not a full rebublican but I mostly agree with them. My whole family is Demo. but I seen to have made my own mind up.

OMG!!! It's Hillery!!!! (When she came here to Zanesville) I puked constanly until they stopped talking about it.
This is my favorite quote from my aunt right after they came back from the thing (I stayed home)
"She was so pretty! Her Hair was the most beautiful blonde! and it was so shinny! I couldn't how beautiful she was!" (She -IDK why lesbo. is cuss word- but she likes guys too. Not girls)

I was afraid. Yeah they are obsesive if you didn't notice.

As for O'Bama. I wish him and all of us well. (Scary fact: The last time that the top 1% earned over 20% of the income was the year right before the depression.

Here's an idea. Why don't we bail out the people who can't pay their loans after they lost their job. Instead of just giving the banks money to blow. Who ever's idea that was that was stupid! I don't care what party it was.

As for party's in general: "United we stand. Divided we fail" We are all devided and slowly we are failing and now in God we trust. But we can't have any religion outside of church or it encroaches upon other people's religion. YAY fun.

Re: Democrat or Republican

George Bush is not an idiot. He has a degree from Yale and knows how to fly jets...I'm pretty sure they don't let the average idiot go out and do that. Just because the man is not as well spoken with an audience then the Democrats...who are very good at simply leading people into false beliefs through pretty words....doesn't mean the guy is an idiot.

The threat was in the Middle East...that is where the threat came from and that was the target. As a member of the military I know things about that..and just what our reasons for going there were. Bush was straightforward and commited. I'm sorry that he didn't have a "pretty voice"...but he had the guts to do something despite what everyone was going to do to him.

For gods sake...the man has had every single liberal on capital hill pulling him down....the vast majority....asi in 90% of the media at his throat....and all of these other obstacles that were ever present. It's wonderful how the country was united so well after 9-11...where we saw what can happen by playing buddy buddy all the time. No, Bush had the direction he needed...and that attack was MORE then enough for our actions. Even though it took only months for the Democrats to reconvince everyone that this wasn't the "American" thing to do. No thank you...seeing slide shows of the towers burning more then fortifies my confidence in Bush.

Doesn't matter now. The man did his duty and is going out of office. Now I have a new commander and chief and no matter what his direction I have to support him..and that's what I will do....but already I am getting an earfull of false promises and "lets be friends" objectives that only tell me that Democrats are ready to play buddy buddy with everyone once more.

Re: Democrat or Republican

Degree from Yale means jack from what I've seen from him. You can be an A+ student and not have a shred of common sense. Sorry, but I still hold that opinion.
Yes, I acknowledge that it's admirable for someone to deal with an event like 9/11, to go through rough times and such, but I still think he made one too many wrong decisions.

Also, a lot more lives could've been saved during 9/11 if there was better interoperability between the government and emergency services. It was just bad execution upon responding quickly to critical events like this.

That was quite unnecessary...I could say the very same thing, but as long as opinions have some reasons, I'm more than willing to listen to what one has to say. Don't cover up your ears now and be ignorant. Follow-ups are fine.

Summary that you have yet to acknowledge: Bush needs more common sense than a degree or technical skills at this point, if he still governed the country.
That being said, I'm quite excited to see what's the first issue Obama will address (what's the first thing he'll do).
