Re: Calling to all Legend of Spyro fans

That just proves the argument on some other topic as well lol big_smile....but yeah if you want to find more supporters for LoS who would gladly help you in this little....bump....or whatver it is you are calling it then try some of the other sites like Darkspyro...here you will not get nearly as much support here as you might think. Just let people do their thing.

Yes, I know the the reasons, and it could have gone worse. But then again, it could have gotten better. There are other companies out their that have the potential to take the Spyro series and reboot with something better or revive the old stuff back.

And they wouldn't go broke if they made games like the older Spyro's because people will still buy them. There's a lot of "old-skool" Spyro fans here.

I know full well that their are plenty of "old school" Spyro fans around...I myself am one of the, and Insomniac let go of the series because they felt it had no potential anymore...and that they couldn't really build upon it....and even then...after they released the series....ETD and AHT were attempted with the same formula in a more modern era, and yes it is true, that many old school Spyro fans still enjoyed and purchased this game...but it wasn't enough to save it from relative disappointment...in the end they still wanted something new...so that's what they attempted to bring to the games.

So long as Sierra owns the rights they will make Spyro in the image that they percieve...and even though this still isn't the best by far...for most of us....it's the most we can do to still support it in some way or another.

Re: Calling to all Legend of Spyro fans

Ratchet- I'm not saying they weren't good games. I'm just saying that we we elevate them slightly.
better ex: Bumper cars- I still enjoy them but they must be bigger and faster now

How about we raise the ratings on all of them?

no Spyro is a laughing stock either way... Keep going in a platformer only direction and them it will be concidered a kids game. tLoS and it will be what it is. (honesty part here) A bad game with a great plot. If it didn't have a good plot I would be acting in the same way you guys are and asking for Spyro to die.

Spyro never again will be cool. It never again will be a fun game. But Mabey... Just mabey it can have a great plot as a game or a movie.

I have my fire proof body suit on and A fire extiguisher.

Flame ME!!!!!!!   It's fun.

p.s: I'd be happy with a book series of Spyro.

Reddragon-

Thanks for not letting this go while I was away for a a couple of days.

With all due respect,

Re: Calling to all Legend of Spyro fans

Well I like to see the best in both series....both have positives and negatives...just like every game...when it comes down to it it doesn't matter because we are not truly in control of what they do....but it's just a debate that will always go on so long as their are two different aspects to approach it from.

Re: Calling to all Legend of Spyro fans

On a side note: I was at walmart and picked up a copy of DotD. (rented before) but the Wii version was sold out and I got the last PS2 one. (I don't live in a big city either. Zanesville, OH. our population is 10,000-20,000 (lower end)) It can't be selling too badly then

I'd like to think that Sierra is the best company for Spyro left. Only if Isomic recieved the rights again would I get excited about the old version returning. No other company would put a Thank You to the fans for 10 years of detication like Sierra did at the end of the credits. I told myself after seeing that that I couldn't see a better place for Spyro other than Isomic.

I'm going to ignore all negitive posts that are off of the subject I made here, from now on.

Make your own topic and I'll dispute the topic there. Other wise you are just out for blood on a topic that can not be resolved and there is no one universal right answer. Each person has their own right answer for them selves.

RedDragon- I know but there was no other voice for tLos really at all.

Re: Calling to all Legend of Spyro fans

I know what you mean...one of the reasons I did join this forum was because nobody really jumped to defend LoS as well...and believe me I have done so plenty of times....but many of us are just plain tired of arguing over something that will never ever be resolved...because yes....everyone is going ot have their own opinion on the matter...and nothing is going to change what you think period.

I have not really been against what Sierra has done...I didn't at first...but over time the story won me over...and I look at the pros and cons of both series...and I love both...as far as I'm concerned...so long as Spyro lives on in some form or another I will always support it. Even when I look at LoS....it could have been much much worse...

Really impressive....I must say that really caught me off guard...I mean I looked at the sales a couple weeks ago...but they didn't seem near 1 million at all....hm....well good for them. Now they have a pretty good standard to build from. I guess that design change helped for once big_smile

Well, I figured they could make the series even better if they could keep it going...  1 M in sales would certainly help with that.

Re: Calling to all Legend of Spyro fans

You're telling me...and they still have A LOT to improve on should they continue with the series....but 1 mil sales should just about seal the deal with that....now we just have to see what they think about it.

Re: Calling to all Legend of Spyro fans

Yeah still a LOT of improvements needed.

I think anybody who colpleted the game will be back if they weren't looking for something different than what they got. Good story line I believe can bring most anybody back though.

Re: Calling to all Legend of Spyro fans

Well their is no doubt in my mind that fans will turn out for another game...I'm looking forward to it myself...but they really have to take this opportunity to build upon what they have...and try in some way to reunite this fanbase...that would really be something wonderful.

Re: Calling to all Legend of Spyro fans

Going for another TLOS game defiently would not hurt Sierra. The fanbase is big enough itself to generate enough sales needed.

Re: Calling to all Legend of Spyro fans

Yes as you said in the other topic remove the fighting and reserve it for the boses and but find a buch of stuff as you did in the origional to get there preserving the plot.

Like the Ruins part of DotD. Fight to get something. No fighting to get to it either. Find it, kill the things guarding it and then move on to the next thing.

I think they tried but not very hard in DotD.

They need a little more of that. That's acceptable.

Re: Calling to all Legend of Spyro fans

Well they did try....and it wasn't all that bad...but it still lacked the feeling of absolute confidence in their work. I mean...when you play the originals you get the feeling that they did everything in their power to make the game the best it could be....when you play that with LoS you really just don't get that vibe.....just that the game is there.......

I just want to see a little more passion inserted into the development and quality of the games.

Re: Calling to all Legend of Spyro fans

I don't have a clue why some people think the new games aren't very good.
The originals were really great, but Don't you think we should all be happy that Spyro didn't stop completely?

1 Million? Wow. I'm sure Spyro will get alot better in the future and you'll all be happy smile

Re: Calling to all Legend of Spyro fans

Exactly SLF, its what i don't get to be honest, why are people moaning about this new seires if its carrying on spyro? I like both series, i mainly like the new series because it saved spyro after he almost got killed off after AHT and SL

Re: Calling to all Legend of Spyro fans

Because some people just don't like the game style. Not every gamer is the same I'm afraid...and they will always see those inconsistent elements when they pick up and play the game. They don't just hate it to hate it for spite....even though I have seen a couple who do that.

Anyway, Spyro will be alot more popular when his movie comes out ^_^

Re: Calling to all Legend of Spyro fans

Debatable. The movie could be a double edged sword. It has the chance to either draw fans away from the series or drive them further from it.
