Who'd win...
In a fight between Spyro and Sonic? Me, I say Spyro. My friend says Sonic just needs to dodge the magical mumbo jumbo that Spyro can throw at him
. So, anyways, what do you guys reckon?

Re: Who'd win...
Man, I love Spyro, but of course Sonic is going to win. He's just too fast, even with the classic supercharge, Spyro won't be able to touch him. Of course if they're ever both on SSB (Which I doubt unless Spyro gets his act together to become a little more wanted.) they'll have their fair share of losses and wins.

Re: Who'd win...
yeah im gonna have to say Sonic, Spyro games i like better, but sonic as a character is just the best there is.
the best i can imagine spyro doing to stop him is using one of those special attacks from tLoS (is it furies?) because i get the impression that they do damage to a radius surrounding spyro (could be wrong) thus possibly slowing sonic down

Re: Who'd win...
I say Spyro, why? Here is a battle:
3... 2... 1... GO!
Spyro flies into the air
Sonic tries to jump up but can't reach
Spyro does dragon time
Sonic goes as slow as he does in SSBB now
Spyro does an ice attack
Sonic goes as slow as a normal person now
Spyro does a fury attack
Sonic launches off the stage...

Haha, you're telling me that in that span of time that Spyro performed those attacks, Sonic couldn't just run over at the speed of light or use a spring to reach up and interrupt them?

Re: Who'd win...
Well, considering the Dragon Time function's been removed, maybe Sonic has a high chance of winning, but though I love both, I'd still say Spyro. Sonic may be fast, but his speed can be matched. As is proved by Shadow's superfast skating
.
There are other ways of winning a fight, and Spyro doesn't have to be as fast or faster to win
.

Shadow sucked.
He was supposedly created as "the ultimate lifeform" hence why he was so fast. (Skate shoes can't be that fast unless you can move your legs that fast) I disliked him for taking Sonic's thunder. But personally, I find his backstory to be a load of crock, so I ignore it.
As for the fast thing, it's usually important to have agility because if you're fast enough to the point that your opponent can't touch you, then you can't be damaged. (Like your friend said.) Not that I'm saying Spyro can't win, of course, but I'm just pointing out the advantage.

Re: Who'd win...
Meh, Shadow's my favourite character mainly for his personality (don't know why I like angsty characters *shrugs*). I wasn't even a Sonic fan before this year, and the black dude's the main reason. I've noticed that Sonic fans who loved the classic games hate Shadow for 'stealing Sonic's thunder' as you put it
. I guess I'm sorta neutral on that matter, because I like Sonic almost as much.
About the agility, yeah, that's a point. Still, the Furies might present more of a challenge to Sonic, considering how big the explosions are.

Re: Who'd win...
I actually don't really hate Shadow, there are instances in which I really like him. Such as when he has that conversation with Rouge at the near end of SA2; you can really see his wits there, and how straightforward he is. (I keep thinking there must have been a substitute writer/storyboard artist that made that scene. Seriously, it's just so different from the rest and whoever wrote it knew exactly how heated professionals act with each other. Even the camera angles add to the effect. Also, I'd like to point out that I really dislike Rouge too, but I think that one scene made me like her, she just acted so differently there than before.) Also, despite how much I hate Sonic 2006, Shadow's ending made me like the character much more. Mostly because that Mephiles guy was all like "HAHAHA you're just a dumb emo hedgehog and nobody likes you, you gonna cry like in the past million scenes? >:)" and then Shadow basically goes "whatever man, I don't give a crap anymore" and just goes on his way, which he should have done from the beginning. Basically, I like Shadow's character when he's not acting like "MY PAST MY PAST WHAT IS IT, I'M SO CONFUSED, MARIA MARIA MARIA" or "I'm going to cross my arms and stand still here like some overused anime character."
So yeah, all they need to do is fix him up a bit and seperate him from the Sonic games, or at the very least have him only make brief appearances (maybe as a boss that stands in Sonic's way a lot) and then I'll really like him.

Re: Who'd win...
Well, I never played any Sonic game expect for the 06 one ^^;. Like I said, I'm new to the series. I have, however, seen some scenes from SA2 and SH. Shadow reminded me of Anakin Skywalker >_>.
Heh, I want him to remain a main character in most of the games (who could tell? XD). I prefered him in the 06 one in comparison to him in the previous games. Actually, now that I think about it, was the gameplay the only thing that everyone seemed to hate about that game? It's difficult, yeah, but the story and everything was fine.

Re: Who'd win...
Yeah, people hated the story too because of how awkward and typical it was. They find the idea of silly-looking big-headed characters next to a bunch of photo-realistic humans to be incredibly stupid; and one of those characters falling in love with one of those humans made it too awkward to function. (With the kiss and everything.) The story is just too insane and confusing for a Sonic game where Sonic still acts like his carefree self, and they try to make it dramatic, which most of the time just ends up being cringe-inducing. Also, the extra characters seem to be dead weight. Why not just take them out of the gameplay? Including characters with such varying behavior to their environment just makes the story horribly unbalanced. For example, we have one scene where Shadow is having a serious and smart discussion about something with a dumb name called the Solaris project, and then we have another scene with Amy talking to Elise about love and giggling like some Disney schoolgirl. No matter who's playing this game, at one point, you're going to have to cringe at a cutscene, which shouldn't happen. Also, the plot twists are just unnecessary. Kill off Sonic temporarily for some cheap drama? Gee, thanks Sonic Team.
About Silver, I just find him to be a pointless character, but at least he's not inexplicably as fast as Sonic. He was alright for maybe like this one game, but I have a feeling they're going to keep bringing him back, so I have to perform a facepalm.
I actually didn't find Shadow's story to be that bad in this game, in fact, I'd say it was the least awkward out of both Sonic and Silver's. He wasn't being emo most of the time, which I liked. He also seemed to be working for the government as some sort of community service to redeem himself and took it very seriously, which I found to be a great step toward rebuilding his character. Of course, it had to be ruined when they decided to add the unnecessary plot twist of everyone hating Shadow in the future for no real reason. But I guess I can ignore it, because Shadow didn't seem to care, which was good. I think he probably just acts on better impulse with his friends around. (Rouge and Omega)

Re: Who'd win...
Yeah, that Sonic/Elise thing was awkward, I'll give you that...but as for the rest of the game, even if it's weird, I did find it fairly dramatic to a point. But then, I'm pretty easy to please with games.
I kind of just...skipped those Amy scenes...Mainly because she annoys the heck out of me and I can't stand her voice. I don't own the game, but I've played it and liked it (despite the many times I fell of a cliff by just twitching the joystick or whatever they're called), and I've seen most of the cutscenes.
Everyone hates him in the future because they fear him. I guess that's not a real reason, but that's humanity for you
. I didn't have an issue with that aspect. It's also hard to think of Shadow with friends, because he's always so detached...but I guess he's learning. *restrains self from mentioning a so called ShadowxRouge rumour*.
As for Silver...he's not bad, but I'm not a huge fan of him.

Hey man... ShadowxRouge is my OTP. xD (LOL I used to administrate a club for them on Deviantart, and I had to review some cutscenes from that game. I was seriously wishing I could hear it in Japanese because Rouge's english 4kids voice was making me grind my teeth from all the gender confusion.)
As for the whole "we fear what is powerful" thing, it's just that I find it too bizarre for it to exist in Shadow's case. I mean, look at how ruined that possible future was. We have Iblis running around merrily destroying things and turning the city into a pool of lava, and people are worried about what Shadow, a GUN agent, is going to do to them? :[ But that's just me. (Although I hear the same complaint in other places.)
Anyway, I suppose we should get back on topic, because I keep forgetting this isn't in General Chat. D: Um um, maybe Spyro could send out a bunch of gems to confuse Sonic into thinking they're emeralds and while he's distracted picking them up, Spyro goes in and flames him.

Re: Who'd win...
XD, If I have to support any pairing, it'd probably be that...I refuse to go with the SonicxAmy one
.
4kids? They stuffed up the Sonic X series like there's no tomorrow >_>.
Well, when you put it that way...I guess, with what had already happened, they just didn't wanna take the risk of Shadow turning against them and kicking their...never mind. Yeah, that aspect's weird.
Oh yeah...heh, that could work

Re: Who'd win...
I see we have a Sonic discussion. Sonic is my other fandom. I actually really liked Shadow's character in SA2/B, but it was really cheesy when they brought him back. IMO, he should've stayed dead. And also: The 4Kids Voices are made of phailure. i couldn't stand any of the cutscenes in Zero Gravity until I found out I could change the voices to Japanese. I actually enjoyed them (Amy's jap voice is so kawaii!), but I still prefer the SA2/B VAs.
Anyways, back on topic:
In a fight Sonic would speedblitz Spyro. Sonic is recorded as moving at the Speed of Sound, Spyro is nowhere near that fast.

I dislike Shadow for his game ratings. Its rated M. I wanted it so badly! And also I'd have to say Sonic would win. I LOVE Spyro so much more but Sonic. Its like his energy bar is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY off the screen. He is so full of energy that it will take eternity to take him down! As for Spyro his energy bar is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo low. I die 20 times per level in TEN beacause of that. Even Spyro's fury can't slow down Sonic.
Message to Sonic from me:
I HATE YOU FOR THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! INU YASHA COULD KILL YOU THOUGH! besides all he has to do is use Tetsiga or Wind Scar. Then you'll die in a split second... Back to the yelling. YOU SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *brakes all Sonic games* (sorry SF and Sonic fans. i am to but...) YOUR SUCH A *BEEP* SONIC!
Message to Sonic from Inu Yasha:
Its true.

GET AWAY FROM ME! *freaks out* INU YASHA! HELP!

You guys might have a point...but I still bet on Spyro XD.

Man, I always thought it was completely pointless to kill him off. I think they just did that for some kind of sad ending to get a reaction out of people, but when I saw it I just instantly shook my head and said "yeah right." I knew he was going to come back. He's just too popular.
Like I said, in my belief, the proper "death" for him is to simply announce his loyalty to continue working for the government and then just leave the Sonic series. Maybe, I don't know, get his own series with Rouge and Omega, which wouldn't be so bad if Sonic Team would know what they were doing and not create some rush job like last time, or at least hand it to a company that knows what they're doing. My friend even suggested that if he stays with the government so far, maybe in one game Sonic is accused of breaking the law and is constantly being chased by Shadow, thus triggering boss fights with him. I don't think it sounds like such a bad idea, but that's just me.
I didn't really like him in SA2B. He sounded too...well, like I said before, too much like something outta Star Wars. But he's grown on me.
Haha, yeah, I didn't really like him that much in general except for a couple of scenes, like the one I mentioned before, and also something like his dialogue to Sonic near the end. (IE. "But you know, I can't let you live.") But I know there were some cringe-inducing scenes. I played the dark story first, and as soon as I saw him emerge out of that pod all dramatic like with his arms crossed I was like "OH NO." I've always been fond of his jap actor, but SA2 was probably the best for his english voice, and I have no idea why they changed it.

Re: Who'd win...
They just DO
. But...his SA2 voice was alright when he wasn't saying odd things like, "Thank you for releasing me, my master." I got used to it. But his newer, more hoarse voice kinda suits him more. Well, to my point of view anyway.
To SpyroandCynder4EVAH: Nope, PG.
