or has Cynder turned more and more purple over the trilogy. I mean she was a wicked black dragon in the first one, now she's . . *le-gasp* she's dying her scales! *points*

One of those cases when they tried to refer into something, or add realism perhaps (cynder turning more like spyro and less evil when she does nice and happy things with him). Or an attempt to add little detail that would make the game more interesting. Too bad, almost no one really noticed it. Years of careful planning have gone to waste.

Hey! What if they added it so the tlos fanboys could blow their brains out when they try to think the reasoning of it!

but they definitely chance her design a lot.

The question has been asked before...they even asked them over on Sierra Forums why she appeared more purple then she did black...and they responded by saying that the reflective nature of her model made it appear that she was more purple then black...but they did intend for her and she still is a black dragoness...but yeah they should have worked with it a little better...she does appear more purple..

That's Just Sierra Thinking of something on the Spit. In almost all Art Work She looks Dark Purple, defiently not black.
Its kind of weird seing A Purple Dragon is only supposed to be born every 10 Generations, Maybe the Dragons mean a spacific type of Purple

Well I don't think that Sierra...as many things as they have managed to screw up...exactly meant for her to turn out purple...because having anything of that sort in a game with only two purple dragons would just be completely idiotic....and I don't think game developers and designers are that stupid.

I do think that she is black...but from certain viewpoints she can appear purple at times...in a lot of the screenshots I have seen it has gone both ways...some she appears more of a dark purple...and in others she looks pitch black...needless to say I don't think they meant for it to turn out like that.

Is that sarcasm I sense in your voice lol....really do you think that they are that freaking stupid in general...I mean yeah it's possible but for what reason would they introduce a black dragoness over the past two games...and then switch her color to some shade of purple?...what is the point lol....I just don't see it.

like i said...maybe they ran out of black pixels so they chose dark purple.

cynder was dark WHEN SHE WAS CORRUPTED BY THE DARK MASTER. but now she is with spyro. nit that that matters...but look at cynder when she was attacked with that fury at the end of a new beginning. notice anything when she shrank?she turned a bit lighter. (if i am wrong correct me) Also...it could be one of those things where as cynder is not controlled, the darkness lifts and her color changes...That is all i have.

i agree with what shadowsfall said. since she's not possessed by the dark anymore, her dark color is going away.

(if she keeps changing her colors to whoever she's around, they better keep her away from green or orange dragons. xD)

Its a possiblity She's actually a Blue dragon and now her transission back To blue makes her look Purple.
Or...Maybe Only the Male Purple Dragons are the ones that are special, Or a spacific Type of Purple. There's a few explanations.

in that third picture its mostly the light angle that make her look purpleish

She's purple in like any pick of her in DOTD. And if there was light on her black skin it would reflectas white or grey, not Purple
