Who here has a disorder, disability, desease ect. of any kind?
Uh... I don't know if this topic would offend anybody, I just want to know...
Well, I have cataplexy, a disorder that makes me REALLY weak whenever I experience very very high emotions, to the point of not being able to move at all. I also have narcolepsy, which causes me to suddenly fall asleep at ANY random moment, like when riding a bike... Or driving... But these things have been happening less often since I got my meds ![]()
Now discalculia... I've been working on that, and it's been getting better.

Re: Who here has a disorder, disability, desease ect. of any kind?
Cooldude: Gee, that sounds really awful and paralysing when it occurs...
I have Asperger's Syndrome, which is a type of autism that can affect a person's behavioural, communication and social (personal interaction) skills, among other things. It is also characterised by a narrow but all-consuming obsession or interest in the most randomest things; intolerance to change, and certain stimulus like sand or particular noise; and other stuff. However, kids with asperger's can learn these things in the same way that normal kids can learn how to play a piano, and it affects them less as they get older. I don't see it as a disability or disease though, as it can also enable to person to do great things.
More info: www.disability.vic.gov.au/dsonline/dsarticles.nsf/pages/Asperger's_syndrome?OpenDocument
(copy and paste link. clicking it won't work because SF butchered it).
Feel free to PM me anytime if you wish to talk, even if its just to randomly say hello

Re: Who here has a disorder, disability, desease ect. of any kind?
im not meaning any offence by this but i find it amazing how frequent mental disorders are on online communities
my theory regarding it is that, because mental disorders have an effect on social interaction, people find it easier to communicate online
i dont have any disorders/etc. that i know of, but thats why i started joining forums and stuff, it was a way of being social without putting myself in a real life situation

Yeah, it's *sort of* like fletch talon said.
Though I can communicate fine in real life, it's kind of embarrasing to just fall to the ground in public because I laughed my a** off.
And raven, it's not as bad as it sounds. It feels funny once you get used to it ![]()

I don't have any bad disorder's but I get really bad anxiety attacks. In big crowds I will get really really dizzy... although I've never fainted and it has gotten better.
Just because I'm shorter than you, doesn't give you the right to use me as an armrest.

My mom told i had disorder, I forgot the name, but I learn slower than normal people, it takes time to catch up. My speech skills was poor when I started school, thats why I had to go to speech classes.
I don't know if this is a disorder, I'm really afaird of large crowds of people. This prevents me from going just about anywhere.

Re: Who here has a disorder, disability, desease ect. of any kind?
I've never been diagnosed with anything. Closest I've gotten was borderline enemic.
Though I do think I at least have obsessive compulsive disorder to some extent, since I worry so much over little details. It used to be that when I went to school, both my hands would be full with bags or books. So then whenever I didn't have to hold anything in one hand I kept randomly feeling that I was leaving something behind. Like I would just be walking down the hallway normally then just suddenly stop and wonder if I had left anything and it happened numerous times throughout the day.

That must mean you are Colour Blind, mimi. You should go to the doctors and he will test which colours you are Colour Blind to. Its nothing really serious, all it means is you get colours mixed up. Its rarer in girls, but it does happen. All he'll get you to do is look at cards and that will tell him which ones you are colour blind to. The downside of Colour Blindnes is you won't be able to go into the Armed Forces (Navy, Airforce etc).
I personally, don't have anything wrong with me that I don't know about. I nearly got asthma when I was younger. I kept getting really bad chest infections, and the doctor said it would either develop into asthma or I would grow out of it. Luckily it was the latter.

Teenager part of Brain: Screw this. These people all f'ing suck.
Aspie part of Brain: AAAAHH People (Hides in corner)
ADD part of Brain: FUN!!!!(Running around like a maniac)
Gifted part of Brain: Why am I associating with such nimnuls?
Pretty weird, huh?

Honestly, is there a point about bragging about your mental disorders? Its like "Im moar skroowed up dan u!" "no i am!" "Nu!" There really are some things you just don't say over the Internet...

Maybe they just want to share it with other people. I don't think they're bragging. If you weren't a mod I think I would have reported that post, actually.

RaidonMakoto: I don't care if you're a moderator, and I don't care if you're friends with Spyrorocks (a fact which you seem to love to publicise to everyone). That does not give you the right to troll here. I don't think anyone's "bragging" about anything, and having a disability does not make anyone "skroowed up".
Anyway, I have ADD and used to have depression.

I have OCD pretty bad. EVERYTHING must be neat, in order, and perfect or I have like a panic attack. Also, when i carry my books at school, I MUST have them stacked with the biggest on the bottom and the smallest on top. My friends try to sneak and mess stuff up just to get at me. lol.

I love my staffies!

We don't brag, okay? I just wanted other people to know they're not alone.
What do you mean, "Im moar skroowed up dan u!". It seems you think of disabled people as stupid. Be careful of what you say, cause it'll bite you back in the *bleep* later on.
