Contest Three Results: Wow You Guys Have No Lives

Seriously? I know that my contest results are over two months late but is it that big of deal? You weren't winning real money. You weren't winning a tangible prize... you're winning some imaginary gems that you can use to buy what? Banners and avatars? And you all were getting angry about the delay?

Explanation? You want explanation? Here it is:

I'm the editor of the school newspaper that comes out every month. I'm the editor of the yearbook. I'm the president of Student Council and we are in the midst of planning a winter dance, volleyball tournament, fundraiser, and Christmas decorating contest. I'm the president of National Honor Society and currently we are planning roadside clean-ups service work.

Now take that and add my college search. Since the contest three began I've been to four colleges to visit. I have applied to six colleges. Been accepted to three. That has required me to fill out housing applications, meal plans, and several dozen scholarships. Each scholarship requires letters of recommendation, applications and essays.

I also work for my parents at our campground. Even though it's closed for winter, we are still hauling boats into storage, raking, turning off electricity, blowing out water lines, and power-cleaning buildings.

I also have an obligation to the local newspaper where I write movie reviews once a week.

And I've had a family tragedy.

The contest is as far down on my priority list as possible. Any and all work I do for SpyroForum and its counterparts is purely voluntary. I am not paid and I am not commended. I do not expect to or want to be. I do it out of a love for Spyro. But when my real life - my future, family, friends and career are calling, they take full precedence over this place - a forum filled with people I do not know and will never know or meet.

That said, I have your results. I didn't even feel like doing them anymore thanks to all your b!tching. Here they are anyways. I'm not doing another contest for the foreseeable future. If you want one, ask one of our other moderators. I'm not the only mod here. If you wanted results, you should have asked them.

Malefor: Lie? It's not a lie when there's really no life-altering events happening here. I made a competition for all of your entertainment. My personal life kept me from meeting my results deadlines. That's not a lie. It's having a life.

And if you're going to quote my PM response, quote it right : "Seriously? Stop asking." not "will you quit asking me?"

There's not really a difference but I hate it when people paraphrase in quotes. That's lying.

Wow... I only do uni (college) and work a couple of times a week, and I have trouble juggling the times for that, let alone all the other extra-curricular activities that you do, Spyro. Thank you for judging.

Malefor - Check this Google search. Notice how almost every instance of this sentence being used is in result for The Legend Of Spyro: The Eternal Night? That's because TEN's tagline was: "As darkness falls, a hero must rise!" Way too close.

Cynder794 - The problem I had with your first entry was the grammar. Many of you had really bad grammar and spelling. This isn't English class but if I have to re-read something multiple times to figure out what words you meant or what your sentence says, it's hard to continue considering it. Spellcheckers are free, fast and painless. It's not even the spelling as much as grammar. This contest was to see who could write the best tagline. If I worked for advertising at Sierra and someone brought in a tagline with bad grammar I'd ask them to leave. Your second entry, however, was very good and was in the running for a long time.

Actually, I never really noticed. But I did have an idea for another contset. For the lols, how about a "funny script contest" I do those all the time.
