First of all, it depends on games you want, and want you want to do with your system.
There's no use getting a console if it doesn't have some of the games you want!
I would recommend the PS3 myself but i don't know the pros and cons as i dont own either.

I'd personally buy a PS3 since it has MUCH more games that I want than the 360....

I'd say Wii, but you didnt put it as an option and it probably doesnt qualify as HD so that would be a trollish kind of post

PS3 if you want to play hig quality movies
360 if you wanna play games

thats my opinion, simply because the only well known game on PS3 Id play is little big planet, but ive seen that the 360 is getting a 3D game that works in a similar way, and the Xbox also has fable 2, and blue dragon (i dunno how good that is but i want to try it one day)

still I like my wii, i spose it depends on whether you prefer fun games or serious games

I can't play with the Wii controler for my life....

I know I'm just retarded that way...

Even thought the Wii has some good games I can't play it, I'm not it's target audience, it's far too gimiky for me...

I just want to sit down after a long day and play some R&C not stand up and swing my arms like I'm in a martial art tournament....

And the 360 games are mostly "No Platformers, GUNS ONLY, Final destination!!!!"

So yeah PS3 is my cup of tea....

I would have voted Wii but since it's not on there. It really comes down to what you like if eather has any games you would love to buy then get that one. But it depends which console you like more and what games do you like? Once you know than get the console that you feel best if for you.

Heres what it boils down too

PS3:
pros: Rechargeable controller, upgradeable hard drive just need to get a 2.5in sata drive, HD quality games and Blue ray player, Blue tooth, and depending if you get the 80 gig version or not PS2 back words compatible games (all) free internet for store and what not (still pay money for buying movies and games ), updates regularly for add-ons, wireless connection too the net, and PS3 Home coming soon.
Con:Pricey, not a lot of games in the library, Theres not HDMI or Comp wires too make it HD (sold separately)

Xbox 360
Pros: A lot of games for your buck, cheap at only 200 for the system, has some old arcade games, comes with all the hook ups for HD gaming, comes with controller and headset (I think),
Cons: Has a lot of hardware problems, the hard drive space is not upgradeable unless you get THEIR hard drive, controls are battery powered and give me a headache trying too use it, a lot of whining children playing online, and it can not be tuched after it starts up or the CD will be scratched.

Thats all the pros and cons of them That I can think of feel free too add more.

PS3!!! OMG!!! I LOVE MINE!!! I can*-takes deep breath-*play games(online free) like Resistance 2, Little big Planet(avatar), and WarHawk, store my photos, movies, music, download exclusive stuff like themes and free demos from the Playstation store, and also you can rent or buy full length BLU-RAY movies and TV show episodes with no commercials, then i can use my PSP useing remote play to watch my movies and vids, look at my photos, listen to my music, go to the ps store and start downloading anything, manage my friends list and send them txt msgs, hang out in home which is a free PS3 only community where you create you own avatar and play arcade games and decorate your own crib, contribute to stanfords universitys Folding@Home project to help find cures for series diseases, browse the web, download Qore from the ps store to get game info and exclusive downloads(DO NOT PRESS L2 UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!), and thats not quite all you can do.

The PS3 has exclusives ya-know and don't even say "name some".

The PS3 lacks exclusives that the other consoles have (not saying there's none), which is one of the many reasons I didn't get a PS3. A lot of the games are also on Xbox and/or Wii as well.

not to mention i wasnt commenting on exclusives, i was saying that nothing on the PS3 really interests me, and the XBox isnt much better, they have some well known FPSs that people rave about but i hate console FPS, i cant get the same degree of control as i can with a mouse and keyboard

Looks like I'm the only guy speaking about the 360.

Anyway, I don't have a PS3, and it doesn't really have any games I'm interested in yet (except Metal Gear Solid 4). A 360 is really good, the price is MUCH lower than a PS3, and although it costs to play online, buying the complete 360 (not the Arcade, Elite will do though) will give you free 30 days of Xbox Live, but the cost isn't much, just $5 a month. My 360's been real good to me, a few freezes here and there, but it's good (a year old and still kicking full power). Sure on Xbox Live you get a few 7 year olds, just mute them or avoid them for lack of experience. 360 has a really good selection of games, and as of today, the NXE (New Experience) has arrived, giving a Nintendo Mii feel with avatars and even avatar specific games (with a price in Microsoft Points sadly). The Xbox is, overall, for more mature players, it seems to have more M games than many systems. Remember that this was from lack of PS3 experience, I still say you should pick what you think has more things you're interested in.

Yeah, the price is a decisive factor for a lot of people still, despite the slight lowering of PS3 consoles.
