Levels/Ranks

I know this can be done quickly and easily, since you've been using phpBB. If you use my rank/level bars all you need to do is, Admin control panel, Users & Groups, rank, rank administration.

Could you please add ranks/levels that would be awesome. big_smile

We used to have ranks, but they were taken away due to people spamming to get their post counts up and such.

Of course not, but that doesn't justify giving people more reasons to spam.

Yeah, ranks are a bad idea, sorry. sad We had them once, but like DDR said, people were spamming to get their post counts up, so we got rid of them. Besides, the people with the highest post counts tend to be RP-ers and people who post stuff that doesn't add much to discussion. (Not saying RPing is a bad thing, just saying.)

Only mods and admins have ranks.
It's a bad idea, people will try to increase their post count just to get to a higher rank and to supposedly be "more respected", though they'd probably get no respect at all.

Guys, I know how phpbb works and I know my way around the admin panel and such, theres no need to try to tell me how to preform basic administration tasks tongue

Yeah, we used to have ranks but got rid of them because people were constantly making useless posts to get to the next rank.

How about time ranks? The longer they've been here the higher the rank, Newbie to Veteran. If you say yes I'll happily change the text in my designs.

That won't work either, because there have been members who joined in '06 but never posted anything.

Why do we need ranks at all? What is the purpose? So you can be more "special" than someone else? =/
