The Chronicler

I honestly have to say that the chronicler is by far one of the most interesting characters. He is older than Malefor (Malefor is over 1000 years old) which is saying a lot about the old dragon. But not only that, it seems that in his centuries of solitude he has managed to gain the entire knowldege of the dragon race. But what is really bugging me is at the end when the Chronicler put his spirit into Ignitus, was the Chronicler just a wandering spirit? Or was he a dragon that had reached the end of his days? In my firm belief the Chronicler was really just a spirit after so long in solitude but had kept its solid form until the next Chronicler produced him or herself.
I know I may be taking this to the extreme but when you're ADHD there is no such thing as taking something too far. smile

Purple Dragon King was a name I developed over time as I began to go from closet Spyro fan to open Spyro fan. It has significance to me not just because of Spyro but it is also my favorite color and my first girlfriend called me by PDK. So next time you see my post think of the king of purple!!!!!!!

Re: The Chronicler

I love the Cronicler as well smile

Though I belive the Cronicler was not a wandering spirit, it seems like the position of being "Cronicler" was something that required him to fuse his own spirit with Ignitus, and I think he did it because he wanted to pass on his knowledge to the next generation.

Ignitus became a white dragon, because this is how the Croniclers powers affect the bearer. To me - Ignitus might also have lost his former identity, and could simply be refered to as "Cronicler" now, and I bet he lost his fire-dragon abilities.

Oh well, I hope this makes sense, it's just my own theories on the subject.  smile

LOL! I was wondering the same thing about how he has hair. As far as I know, I thought reptiles don't grow hair.

I don't care how it looks but how it functions

Re: The Chronicler

The Chronicler had held his job for many milennia, many thousands of years. Whether or not he was a spirit is debatable, it is possible that he was just a very long lived dragon. By passing on his powers to Ignitus, he will ensure that Ignitus will exist for many thousands of years as well, as long as the new age lasts. Yet I think Ignitus has not lost his former powers, rather that his new powers overshadow them. and he has not lost his personality either.

Re: The Chronicler

Well I have always seen the Chronicler as sort of a dragon demi-god....given his position and powers by some kind of higher authority. After all...a worthy dragon was chosen to take over the position with every new age....so the chosen dragon is gifted with immortality and power over time to keep records of that age....until the new one was chosen.

And about the hair thing I agree lol.....Terrador also has it.....and he reminds me of  a scottsman...

Re: The Chronicler

Well.....ok if you want to see it that way then have at it lol......but getting your hands on other books isn't that hard tongue...and wisdom comes from learning through your experiences and observing the world around you.

Re: The Chronicler

I would like to know what element the chronicler had as a dragon before he was a chronicler to be honest, perhaps he is that green dragon we see talking to the moles when its Hunter explaining about the dragon city in DOTD, otherwise i don't know.

Re: The Chronicler

Nah I don't think that was him.....really hard to guess just what element he had power over before his position was granted to him.....and yeah I could so see Gandalf doing his voice.

Re: The Chronicler

That would suit him the most, i think if you were to try and work out which element he is you would have to compare the guardians of the element they have, or perhaps there are elemental guardians we don't know about yet e.g wind like with cynder

Re: The Chronicler

Well I'm sure their are Guardians who are capable of filling those roles...but they never appeared again at the Temple....or perhaps they were wiped out when Cynder purged the land of what dragons did remain...but I'm pretty sure that their are dragons out there who fit the catagory.....as for the Chronicler let's thank them that Gandalf wasn't his voice because then the cliche arguments would have def spiked.
