Tinnitus problem anyone?

A few days ago i was confirmed to have permanent tinnitus. Tinnitus is the ringing of the ears, but it can come in many different sounds and pitches. My one is a very high pitched hissing or cricket noise. Does anyone else have this horrible problem? And ifyou do, how did you get used to it? Or didn't you get used to it?
Please talk about it here.

Re: Tinnitus problem anyone?

That is unfortunate...

Some people went mad from having it, many commited suicide.

Anyway, I don't know what it is like to have it, but they may have a cure in the future.

I do know this... You are going to have a few hard weeks ahead of you, I suggest not listening to music, watching TV, or playing video games until you adjusted to the sounded.

There are some tricks for 'mind over matter', or when you don't mind, it doesn't matter. Just ignore it and soon you won't even know it is there.

Of course, I am not a doctor, so I can't be 100% of what to do.

I don't have it, but every now and then I do get a ringing in my ears which goes after a few seconds, its rare for me though. I think the best suggestion is Neotyguy's, you'll have to just try and ignore it....

Watching TV, listening to Music or watching TV is really the only thing that takes my mind off this.
Hopefully i will learn to ignore this, but at the moment it seems as if i never will.
I'm afraid this will sink me into even deeper depression that i had before.
