Halloween
Are you doing anything for Halloween, on the 31st October (if it is observed in your area)? Whether it is making Jack-O'-Lanterns, trick or treating, wearing a costume, attending halloween events, decorating your house, or whatever else you might be doing to mark the day?
I might get some sweets to give to children and make a pumpkin Jack-O'-Lantern, but it's not celebrated much in many parts of Australia (as it is sometimes seen as 'too American').
Feel free to PM me anytime if you wish to talk, even if its just to randomly say hello

Everyone knows I only eat Cynder fangirls.

[sub]Too old for trick-or-treating, though some people in my classes still do it. =/ Our school is going to have a Halloween dance, but I can't be bothered to find a costume.
I'll most likely stay home and distribute the candy.[/sub]

Re: Halloween
Going on a road trip to Halloween Horror Nights with some friends and the hubster at Universal Studios. Supposedly it's incredibly packed on the actual day of Halloween, but oh well, I really don't get the full effect if it's not on Halloween day.

Re: Halloween
Might go to Howl-O-Scream with my friends, but that's not actually ON Halloween I'll be doing that.
I will be dressing in costume. I plan on going as Lobo, the coolest comic book character ever.

Re: Halloween
On Bonfire night we're carrying out a tradition from.... 1605 or something?
It was when 13 men tried to blow up the houses of Parliament with gunpowder because they weren't happy with how the new ruler treated Catholics. They were basically trying to kill James I, the Prince of Wales and various members of Parliament. But, some had second thoughts and one wrote a letter to a friend (Lord something) telling him to stay away from the Houses of Parliament on the 5th of November. This reached the King and they stopped the plot. Catching Guy Fawkes in the celler with a pile of barrels containing gunpowder, just in time. Guy Fawkes was then tortured and killed. Next day, people heard of the fact that the King had been saved and lit bonfires in celebration.
Today its more extravegant. Bonfires are lit and loads of fireworks are set off all night. Some also still carry out the tradition of making a dummy of Guy Fawkes and sitting on the streets asking 'penny for the Guy'. They then use the money to buy fireworks or sparklers. Then on Bonfire Night, when the bonfire is set alight, the Guy is burned. Even the monarchs have upheld a tradition commemorating it. The reigning monarch only sets foot in the Houses of Parliament once a year and only after the cellers have been checked! XD

Re: Halloween
Speaking of Guy Fawkes, my husband was born on November 5th. True fact. We're always tempted to celebrate his birthday with fire. We've only done it once, though.

Can't do Lobo due to a lack of a leather jacket.
Will instead be going as the King of All Cosmos.
