How in the heck do I defeat Arborick?????!!!!

So in Spyro Eternal Night I am trying to defeat Arborick and just cannot defeat him! He keeps getting his strength back and it is just so hard! Can anyone help or does anyone have any suggestions? Thanx!

I got the PS2 version.

You have to hit his parts three times to engulf them in flames. Do this very very quickly.

Then he climbs out of the river in an attempt to squash you, so use evade by hitting X and swinging the analog stick to the right or left at the same time. Keep on hitting him again.

EDIT: I also forgot, when you die, you'll start all over again.

i beat him and i hated it!! and a
glitch occurred i was attacking
him BAM BAM BAM i beat him
and i screamed YES (not really)
and i had half health and then
my heath was just going down
slowly but i could see it going
down and then spyro died and
i yelled out NO!!! (really XP )
and since that was the first time
i beat him after like 500 times
i chuched the controller
( luckly it did not break XP )
