Re: Religion
goth arent really affiliated with the church of satan
im sure some goths are, but being a goth doesnt mean youre a satanist
also, im sorry you live in such a bad place, i personally live somewhere in which youre going to be much more readily accepted for being christian than any other religion (though in saying that all religions are accepted as far as i can tell)
to be honest most of the western world is like that, christianity is more widely accepted than any other religions, including atheism and agnosticism
it sucks that youve had to grow up in a place that clearly isnt as understanding, but get through the next few years and youll be able to leave
also i have a friend who is both christian (by name and religion lol) and "emo" not "ooooh woe is me slash my wrists emo" he just dresses in that way

Re: Religion
You signed and i have signed. Our names are written in the imaginary ink and on the imaginary peace treaty.
*Everybody claps their hands*
The Goths at my school usually hang out away from everyone else but they stay within their own group. Some Goths are good company and don't give me a hard time. Kind of like this forum.
Not all of you has given me a hard time but had a question here or there but not that much of a big deal. One of my friends was goth and was the one who helped me begin to understand Goths better which was last year and then i went goth this year because i realized no matter what i did there would be a lot of people against me.
Sure there was the technology association that i could hang out with but there was two of them that i annoyed just like you but unlike them you have let the past go and i have as well. This year was the year that i went goth. Christian goth that is. So my motto is "let the world fall apart while i stay true to my own belief and live with a stable mind.
Fell in love with Spyro when I was little. I played it with my friends. They went different ways over time and I refused to let this go. I am seventeen and still enjoy playing the old games as well as the new. Game makers are of their own and I have no reason to disagree because they made it perfect

Re: Religion
Just a friendly mod reminder that everyone needs to be polite over here. Respect the beliefs of others. If any more fights break out, I will be deleting this entire thread.

Re: Religion
well this will quite possibly be the thread that gets the forum locked but ill try to be civil
Fletch, we'll have to agree to disagree.
I'm still a human that is perfectly capable of thinking for herself. By the way, one of my friends is a homosexual - just because someone doesn't believe what I do, doesn't mean I'm going to throw knives at their faces... verbally or physically.
thats nice, so does your friend know that you believe theyre evil and are going to go to hell where theyll be tortured for all eternity all because of the way they were born which funnily enough according to you is gods fault (since he did create us)
There is a kinder, more civil way of 'debating', and it's not calling my beliefs ignorant or saying the world would be a better place without 'people like me'. I'm not mad at you or anything, just kind of put-out because now I remembered why I don't state my beliefs anywhere. I'm not trying to force them on anyone here, either, just exercising my freedom of speech. Er, post.
im well aware of how to debate in a civil manner, but the views you were encouraging are ignorant, there is no other word for it, we KNOW people are born homosexual, we KNOW they can't just flick a switch and be heterosexual again, and yet you think, not because of any logical reasoning, but rather because an old book says so, that they are "sinners"
It's kind of unfair that some aethiests can rant and rave and put down my God all they want, but when I want to raise Him up a little they try to lay the smackdown on me. Oh well.
It takes far more strength to be a Christian than anything else in the world. Think about it. XD
i wouldnt know, im agnostic, you can believe in god if you want, you could believe bananas rain from the sky every second tuesday, but what i am sick to death of is religion that preaches prejudice, you seem to think it does no harm as long as youre all nice to their face and crap
why do you think homosexuals get the crap beaten out of them, why are their rights as couples so few compared to a man and a woman, regardless of whether the 2 men love each other and the man and woman are just in it for the money
your christian religion weedles its way into our governments, forcing its beliefs on everyone, and you still have the stupidity to say thats its alright because "you" dont act on it, then go on to say its hard to be a christian
try growing up as a homosexual, now give it a go in a christian family, have everyone you love reject you for something you cant help but be, all because of someones interpretation of the *bleep*ing bible
Also, to say one last thing, God created male and female - to be together. Males and males can't have children, and females and females can't without artificial help - it isn't natural, which is why it's sin.
how is it not natural... the only way it could be unatural is if it only happened by choice, which we KNOW it doesnt, especially since there are no benefits to choosing to be gay, all you get is ridicule, violence and prejudice
Anywho, I'm not going to argue anymore. You believe what you believe and I'll believe what I believe. Please don't react so harshly to me in the future, Fletch, as I've never done anything to you but defend my God.
*bleep*, if you were defending your god i wouldnt have a problem, what you are defending is a man made rule of your religion
i wish you had responded to the main point of my other post, would you, or would you not believe black people were going to hell if it was written in the bible, id really like to know
you believe in an outdated belief, we KNOW things now which contradict your bible and yet you are still sitting their desperately trying to come up with pitiful excuses
that is what atheists hate about religions, and thats what i hate about organised religions, you dont know when to change, some atheists are as bad, they refuse to believe anything other than what theyve been taught, but for the most part, non-religious people understand that if a new FACT arises, its incredibly ignorant to ignore it, just because it contradicts your religion
there are plenty of christians out there who have managed to realise that you dont have to take everything word for word, there is no logical reason why gays should go to hell, you could tell that to gods face and he'd have to agree, because there is no argument for it, you cant create something a certain way and blame it for being that way, thats hypocrisy and ignorance
and for the love of a god that is fair and just i wish you people could use you heads and figure this out

Re: Religion
I am not going to further defend my arguments because obviously we're not going to be able to agree on any point. If it makes you feel good to think I'm 'chickening out', go ahead. I just don't want to further this rather nasty and pointless discussion. I can't believe you're actually sitting there and calling me STUPID when I haven't done a thing to insult or provoke you except STATE MY BELIEFS. You stated your beliefs with more audacity and in a more offensive way, with more self-justification rather than proving a point. I should be insulting YOU for your name-calling, but at least I have the dignity and decency to break this off before it turns into a flame war.
Just because most Christians force their beliefs on people doesn't mean I'm that kind of person. I was simply entering in my beliefs for the conversation, I didn't expect anyone to have the gall to actually attack me for it. I'm mature enough not to attack you back, thank goodness.
Take this as you will, but I'll be praying for you. I'm done. Goodnight.

Re: Religion
Yeah, sorry Fletch, but I'd have to agree with Kat on this. You're taking this way too far. That post of yours was just plain rude.
Also, as she's already said, according to Christianity (yes, and it is actually in the Bible, I believe) being gay doesn't make you a sinner, but having gay relationships does. There's a difference. Just thought I'd clear that up.
Now if you don't mind, I'd rather not be bashed either, so I'll just leave it at that. Make what you want of it.
