For my school its the school dances. I go to Bright Futres in 5 grade.

If she's in America, 5th grade is usually the Jr. High (Middle School), but wherever she lives might not have the system my state does. (K-4, Elementary/Grade School; 5-8, Jr. High/Middle School; 9-12, Senior High/High School)

And what makes my school go crazy is the day before state basketball tournements.

That's really weird. It's just contributing to kids trying to act like teenagers by "asking each other out". -_-

Dances at school don't start here until high school. I don't think I'll ever participate in one though. XD

Or play real games and go play basketball for real instead of watching 12-year-old boys do it to show off to 12-year-old girls on Disney Channel.

Yeah, kids eat up Disney Channel shows and I have no idea why. As a kid, I watched cartoons and some sitcoms but that unfunny teenage drama stuff never appealed to me. I even watched Buffy, the king of all unrealistic drama at the time, but I never enjoyed those kind of shows.

In any case, for my prom I actually went with a same-sex friend, despite that I was in a relationship anyway, heh. (He really did not want to go.) We both wore suits instead of dresses. Yeah... We didn't take it very seriously but I've loved and kept all the pictures.

Anyways, I seriously think the Disney Channel is one of the main reasons young kids think they need to act like teens, have "boyfriends" etc. I've seen some of the shows before, and that's mainly what they're about, but for some reason, they're aimed at young audiences. [/sub]
