There's no thread about this yet.

What careers do you think you'll have when you are older? Right now for me, I'm not really quite sure what I'm interested in. I always liked Photography, especially after my Photo class last year.

So, what do you want to be?

I've been studying animation for a while now, so I guess I plan to be an animator. Although that could change, it always depends on what's available there to work my way up. I really have no lifetime career goal or anything, mainly because Disney isn't what it used to be. Yes, I study 3D animation too, but I don't really want to contribute to the dull amounts of 3D movies we have now, but of course I won't deny a job offer. I wouldn't mind being a character designer though, I've always wanted to design characters for a living.

There's also animating for commercials, or I'd like to be a videogame cutscene/FMV animator. We'll see though, the competition is always rough.

I'm either gonna be an author, an actress (most likely no), a guitar player (maybe), or character's for animation shows. Most likely the animation voice and author.

A radio DJ (maybe and hopefully Alt Nation!) or one of those people that tours along and sets up for bands.

It may not seem fun to you, but pretty much anything that has to do with music is a great thing to me, and I think that it would be an amazing job to even try and be able to do.

my favreiout job would to be an actor but because that might not be possible Ive got a number of other careers Id like to do

First I plan on going to college.

Then after that, I will try enlist into the U.S. NAVY Seals as an officer.

Then after a few years of the military life, hopefully I will become a game programer.

I want to study Zoology at University. I'm not sure if I will get a job to do with that though. However, I would love to be a Zookeeper who specialises in Birds!

I really love wrting stories I might be an author but I also want to do something like dance esspicially learning Salsa so it's eather one of those two or I might be a Mystrey Hunter type person I would love to look for something like Bigfoot one day it has always interested me.

First of all you wont be goofing around with the band a lot (for that matter your friend) and you spend most of the time setting things up just so some big shoot can yell at you like a idiot and you can't do anything because you will get thrown out. ya sounds like fun I did it for almost a year but hated it half way through.

and all the people who dont appreciate you invading their country

thats very true,the defence force is a great source of income and aids you with education

4. Personal satisfaction and pride
5. Family tradition
6. Honor
7. Devotion to duty
all personal beliefs, cant argue with that, well except honour, i think a number of veterans will disagree, there isnt really much honour in killing people or watching people get killed, or getting killed for that matter

8. Learning useful new skills
i dont know about that, i wouldnt consider firing a gun a useful skill (outside the defence force) but you might be talking about something else

9. Full-time employment
meh, id put the time into the game programming, that kind of industry probably wants to employ people when theyre younger anyway, so theyre more in touch with the current generation of gamers

10. Personal improvement
well there are a number of things you can improve about yourself, none of which id join the army to improve

I wouldn't mind working with computers but I play guitar and i would like to play in a band one day(very unlikely that will happen though)

I can agree with you about puting game programing time in instead of that, but i honestly what to do something before i spend the rest of my life sitting in front of a computer, not that its a bad thing.

Also the skills you learn in the military aren't just fireing a weapon. You can learn leadership, teamwork, wilderness survival (I think it would be interesting to just know), commitment and many other useful skills even for desk jobs.

Then again it all depends if they accept me or if my plans for the future change.
