Contest Three: Dawn of the Dragon Tagline

Hey everyone! Here's our third contest! For this contest, you have to come up with the best tagline for The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon.

That's right, you're in charge of making sure people want to buy this game! Taglines appear on posters, the game box, websites, etc. They are meant to be quick, catchy, invigorating. You've got about 20 seconds of a reader's time to either sell them the game or turn them off.

The key elements to the tagline are:

1) Quick statement.
2) Name of the product (DotD) somewhere in the tagline.
3) A well-worded, cohesive statement.
4) One that conveys the feelings of the game. "Join Spyro in his most supercalifragilistic adventure ever" doesn't quite relay the TLoS mood if you get what I mean!

I wrote own tagline to demonstrate:

"First he found out he was a dragon. Then he found out he was special. He soon learned he was in grave danger. Now, join him on his quest to save the world and the ones he loves! The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon – the epic conclusion to the awesome trilogy comes your way this fall!"

Mine may be a little long. But it still conveys the feelings of the games and tries to get the player interested.

Now, listen closely!

The last two contests have had a lot of rule-breaking I overlooked. In the last contest, people were only supposed to submit two entries and it was supposed to be a single exchange between two characters, yet some people posted several lines worth of discussion or three entries.

This time the contest is more rigid. Anyone who breaks the rules will NOT have their entry(ies) considered. I was willing to let it slide twice now, but no more. It isn't fair to people who followed the rules.

So, in addition to the above suggestions for your tagline, here are the MUSTS!

1) Your tagline MUST have "The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon" written in it somewhere.
2) Your tagline MUST be be on or between 1 to 75 words. No more and obviously no less.
3) Two submissions per person only. Put both submissions in one post. (Last time, some people put one submission in one post, one in another - I want them both in the same place).

If anyone submits more than twice, or oversteps the word limit, you will not be considered.

Heed my words, I'm cracking down this time!

The contest will end on September 11th and the rewards for the best taglines go as follows:

First Place - 10,000 gems
Second Place - 5,000 gems
Third Place - 1,000 gems
Honorable Mention(s) (if applicable) - 500 gems

As Malefor's darkness envelopes the land, it is up to Spyro, Sparx and Cynder to team up and overthrow Malefor and his evil cronies once and for all. 'The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon', the epic conclusion to the 'The Legend of Spyro' trilogy, has exciting new features such as free-fly mode, co-op with Cynder, and a new appearance for our favourite heroes.

(Tagline is formatted in bold text. I left the summery in there because...I think it sounds real good.)

Three years have passed...it only seemed like to me that it was only yesterday that we were trapped. Now it is tomorrow and me and Cynder find ourselves in a shattered world that was once whole. No trace of any peace remains in the creatures that were once calm. I knew one day The Dark Master would reveal himself but...I don't know if I'm ready. ...we don't have a choice...he must be stopped at all cost if our kind is to survive.

The time has come. Join them as they battle the evil that The Dark Master has unleashed upon the dragon homeworld. Play as either Spyro or Cynder and go solo or with a friend in the all-new splitscreen co-op mode. Unleash fierce attacks with each character unique abilities. Take to the skies at anytime and anywhere to give the phrase "fire from above" a new to your enemies. Freely explore the lands to find and put an end to The Dark Masters plans. Will Spyro and Cynder succeed? How high will the price be? Find out in The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon. In stores October 2008.

EDIT: I got to admit the summery sounds good and I wished I could put it in. The 75 words limit took away the possibility of having it in there. That's a shame. At least you can just look at it.
