What fan fiction do you fav

We all have a certain style that we like and even a way of putting on the short story. Some narratives are great and others are funny that is good for a few days and then slowly fade.

Sadly i am having trouble with my fan fiction story and i need some positive input. So i would like to know what you guys like the most so i could put together a interesting fan fiction. Name of it will be The hero that we all know. Inspired by my dreams. I dream about Spyro all the time and i thought why not put it to good use. I will make that part of my journal as well as my imaginary friends.

Fell in love with Spyro when I was little. I played it with my friends. They went different ways over time and I refused to let this go. I am seventeen and still enjoy playing the old games as well as the new. Game makers are of their own and I have no reason to disagree because they made it perfect

Re: What fan fiction do you fav

Well since this is a discussion about fan fiction im gonna put my opinion of fan-fics down here, I'll try not to offend anyone, but since I don't like fan-fics at all, its possible people may be offended anyway

as said above, I dont like fan-fics at all, and heres why

a) its often horribly written (im dead certain there are well written fan-fics out there, but im also pretty confident that theyre outnumbered, thats the problem with a genre that is posted online without needing to be published first

b) a lot of it seems to be pre-teen/teen aged kids writing about the sexual preferences/fantasies they have, whether that be bondage, paedophilia, furry and more commonly girl writers with a [boy/boy] fantasy (whereas guys dont have to write their own [girl/girl] fantasies because it seems a much more common male fetish [hence the bucketloads of porn involving it])

c) it seems in many cases to be a testament to the writers lack of imagination, sure, they can come up with a scene and a plot etc. but one of the harder aspects of writing is creating and developping a character, in fan fiction this has been done for you

d) going on from the whole "its not your character thing" i cant imagine how an author would feel to know that random people with odd thoughts are taking their characters and putting them in situations which they were never intended to be in. I dont know if JK Rowling is laughing her head off or shedding a tear in regards to harry/draco and hermione/snape fan-fics

and finally its not as huge a deal, but its wasted talent, as ive said previously, some fanfic writers are good writers, some even have a good imagination, itd just be nice if they put as much effort into writing an original piece of work which contributes to the world of literature (and their own potential future as an author) as they do writing about Final Fantasy, Naruto, Harry Potter etc.

Re: What fan fiction do you fav

In response to the topic title of "what fan fic do you fav", I don't mind Scarab Dynasty's fanfics, they're pretty well written. And Razz's attempts at Cynder100 are an interesting read. Having said that though, I haven't read a wide range of Spyro stories.

I like reading any fanfiction, particularly ones with well fleshed-out plots, dialogue that suits the character that is talking it, and good spelling/grammar. Makes it more realistic.

Writing about your Spyro dreams could be a good start, Adam.

Feel free to PM me anytime if you wish to talk, even if its just to randomly say hello smile

Re: What fan fiction do you fav

Thanks for the advice. I started this because i have been having writers block which confuses me. I can talk to my imaginary friends but when ever i try getting my characters to communicate they just don't say anything.

I feel like going to the old fashioned pen and paper where there is hardly any reason to go back and erase. I have read that this helps the most since it gets all that frustration out. Many say that it does not matter what is said or how its said as long as you keep writing.

The last week or so was hard because of some of the things that has happened. I have offered to understand someone and offer them my sympathy telling them that Christians were a kind hearted spirit. In return he went behind my back and told every one what we were talking about in the private messages. What a jerk.
