Re: Am I the only one worried about the world these days ???????
i'm just saying because this girl in my class had so many boyfriends at one time but even though she's under aged she had sex with them(abouts 5) and she didn't accept that she was being called a *Bleep*
If shes having sex with that many people, then i think she deserves to be called that.

yeah, i know where youre coming from, im sure if i guy did that his friends would laugh and tell him he's awesome
thankfully society is evolving and there are plenty of males who realise that guys who sleep around are just as insecure as girls who do the same, and need to be pitied or scorned rather than encouraged/congratulated

Re: Am I the only one worried about the world these days ???????
It'd be interesting to see how they feel 9 months down the track when they find out they're fathers at 11 years of age.
What we girls have to do:
-wax/shave legs
-wax/shave armpits
-wax/pluck eyebrows
-work-out
-brush sometimes massive amounts of hair, then try to put it up.
-buy the perfect outfits that compliment our shape/size (which often takes a while)
-buy/wear perfume/deodorant
-put on jewellery
-put on make-up (thankfully optionable)
-act perfectly
-and many other things that i dont want to mentionIf we didn't do these things, do you really think guys would look at us twice?
That sounds expensive and time-consuming. I judge girls (well everyone, really) by their personality and how they act towards me, rather than how they look. If someone is friendly and kind to me, I won't care whether they look gorgeous or are ridden with acne, I'll think favourably of them. If a guy only ever notices a girl, or talks to her, because she's the hottest girl around... then he probably isn't worth her time.

Im not gonna lie here
Im pretty shallow, I could never be in a relationship with someone I'm not physically attracted to
but I don't see anything wrong with that, physical attraction is as much an important part of a relationship as mental stimulation.
as long as you dont go out with some ditzy blonde beach-ball-boobed *bleep*, despite the fact that you have nothing in common aart from a love of the horizontal hokey pokey
...you put your left foot in...

Lol don't apologise, you're entitled to your opinion. You've got a point, I agree that there are very few relationships without an element of physical attraction. But when it is only ever physical attraction, then it is only lust, or 'puppy love', and they don't last very long.
Edit: Woops I didn't think that word would be picked up by the filter.

Agreed 100%
People like to say "oh I don't care how they look as long as they have a good personality". That's a huge load statement right there on its own. Personality does not dictate compatibility. Some people like jerks because of their preferred role in a relationship, and personality takes a big back seat to things like simple chemistry.
As far as physical attraction, that's a subjective thing, as personality is too admittedly, but pleanty of people will genuinely like somebody because they're caring, kind, etc. but that doesn't become love unless something clicks, which it sometimes doesn't. Anyway, back to physical attraction. Since it's a subjective term, it varies from person to person. Some people may like fat girls with stretch marks on their legs and acne scars and a mustache. Also, you sort of need to find someone attractive to be able to be in a relationship with them, otherwise it just doesn't work. However if you genuinely love them, you'll find them attractive physically anyway, so physical attraction is an unavoidable issue.

This just made me LOL.
Do NOT tell me that you'll date a fat, butt-ugly woman with a man's voice just because she has a "caring" and "kind" personality.

Yup, that's why looks aren't everything. I'd look for personality and someone who's able to adapt to many situations.

but then why is important for the girl to be feminine when girls like me are bigger and we don't eat much and do loads of exercise ,and as far as a mans vioce goes people can't help the way they sound and that is as judje mental as anything. Oh and one other thing why is it that big people can't get a brake here if someone treats you with respect and is caring and has desentsy then why does it matter how they look it's not the most important thing in the universe that someone looks good.

My apologies, but I can't understand your post very well. However, I believe that I understand enough to make a response.

Re: Am I the only one worried about the world these days ???????
there are 2 extremes in this argument
people who believe looks are all that matter
and
people who believe that looks dont matter at all
now A Guy isnt suggesting either of those beliefs, he is saying that physical attraction is important, now different people find different things attractive, and im sure there are people who can overlook appearance altogether, good for them, but the majority of relationships require some degree of physical attraction to be successful.

Re: Am I the only one worried about the world these days ???????
In my opinion I think you need a bit of both really. Different people find different things attractive yes, though it may just be the person's personality that someone finds attractive. As for a BUTT-UGLY person, someone may find something about that person attractive. I see plenty of couples and I sometimes think, 'how the heck did they get together?!' But as Atresac said, something must have clicked. On saying that though, I have a man-voice. I hate it sometimes, but all of my friends, especially the lads, never really notice. Unless I bring it up that is, and usually they just laugh or say 'so?'. I also mess about like a lad, so one of the things I get a laugh out of is that the lads don't mess with me. If they say something, I just turn round and rugby-tackle them to the floor. Then they say to each other 'you got owned by Emma'. Nice to be respected, hehe.......
Back on track though, who cares? You agree with what you want, I have my opinion and everyone else has theirs. While I agree that personality is important, you should also try to make yourself look decent. What I mean by that is tidy hair and clothes and stuff like that. But then again, that's common sense.

Re: Am I the only one worried about the world these days ???????
My comment was directed more at those that say that personality is all that matters. In most realistic relationships, if a person has a good personality but is BUTT UGLY, then their partner won't stay interested in them for long.

Re: Am I the only one worried about the world these days ???????
True, but they may find something else about them really attractive. They might have nice legs or other things I could mention but won't. You get what I mean though, it may not be looks that someone find physically attractive about someone. And also as they go out they could notice something that they like about them. Say, a smile for example.

Am I the only one that has noticed how this changed from a discussion about the world's problems to a discussion of what people are looking for in a relationship?

Anyways, I think that more should be invested in APCs for the Iraq War. It'll increase the chances of survival from an IED-however, the government is way too cheap and penny-pinching to give a *bleep* about the welfare of soldiers. They most likely figure it cheaper to throw a few more soldiers at the terrorists then having armored transports to protect them.

Re: Am I the only one worried about the world these days ???????
Our government is like that too. You enrol in the army and they say they will look after you if you need help pr get injured. Yet there are plenty of cases where they don't give them the money to receive specialist treatment that they need when they are blown up by bombs. They have to either save up rediculous amounts of money for themselves, or just deal with it. We don't have to pay for hospital treatment that we recieve, just if we decide to go private.

It always amazes me how many people are encouraged to "fight for their country" when their country won't think twice about wasting their life and letting them die for the sake of money.
