I think you shoul;d try a 30-day trial first. Photshop can cost from 500$-800$. Fireworks is something like 600$. My dad has both, becuase he used to work at a priting and design company! They are definitly worth the money. I made my current banner with Fireworks.

Cool!!!!!!! I think I'll stick with the cheapest one.;) My parents might as well get it. We have typing programs because Mom & dad sent stuff to the U2 band and they have sites they made. We have Webshots, that allows you to make your pictures in a screensaver or every day the bachground will change. My dad has lots of mp3 and music programs on his computer because he works with music alot.

photoshop is the best. I got photoshop cs 2, it takes a little bit of a lerning curve, but eventually you get the hang of it.

Photoshop is definitly the highest-quality program, but Fireworks is designed for making things like banners, avatars, and web graphics. Making my banners with Photoshop can take up to an hour and a half; Fireworks is only about 30 minutes at the most! Photshop is meant for photo-manipulation, touch-ups, and things like that.

at school we have photoshop cs2 but I only use it with adobe illustrator to live trace stuff for school projects. Otherwise I'd never use either to improve my art. I would use them to make banners though.

The trial of this one is probaly worse.>_< PhotoExplosion is the best, but I want to see if it is better than Photoshop and Fireworks.:) Then I'll decide.

this style imager is very good but one problem everytime i make a banner the program creates errors and closes it self so i cant kinda use it at the moment

I got photoshop cs2 here at home (Full version). The BEST image editing software.

Photoshop is probably the best out of them all. GIMP is pretty good too. And Cic...the only reason you think it sucks, is becasue you probably don't know how to use it.
