Re: What would you like to be when an adult?
I’m studying Environmental Science at uni (learning about how we’re screwing up the planet), but I dunno where that will take me after I finish, maybe the Environmental Protection Agency, or the government’s department of natural resources…
After my book Demon Kingdom:Rise of the Riders is done ill start a single novel about a boy that is taken by the Government to area 51 and its his story about how he tries to escape and what happens when the information of what is happening there gets loose...
What's area 51? Sounds like an interesting plot. Are you going to put Demon Kingdom on the net when it’s finished, or get it published through a company?
First and foremost I want to write a book and be a published author, I'm not currently worried what kind of book. I may start off with kids picture books (hopefully illustrating them myself) but would then definitely work up to full novels.
However, being realistic and understanding that you need something special to write a book/series that will set you up for life (blast you JK Rowling) my back up plan is to go into graphic design, preferably illustration but again its a bit of a long shot so I'd settle for signwriting/advertising etc.
Yeh, it can seem hard, especially since their aren't many J K Rowlings around, but if you really enjoy writing then I’d urge you to do it. And even if it ain’t going the best, you can always, like you said, have another job on the side to supplement your income, or just do writing as a hobby. What genre would you generally be interested in writing about?
Feel free to PM me anytime if you wish to talk, even if its just to randomly say hello

[sub]I'm currently looking into careers that involve computer programming; it's something I've done before and really enjoyed. It's a bit difficult to learn on my own, though, so I'm taking more classes next school year. [/sub]

Area 51 is still being used. But no one knows what's going on inside. It's one of the most secretive places in the world. Who knows what they're researching or doing ...
They used to have an underground station around that area too. There was a random little building that looked like a run down house in the desert, but it was actually a secretive underground station for the military. It was eventually discovered and had to be destroyed.

I don't think so. Think of how many people have just suddenly written a book. I think maybe most authors these days get degrees in English and Literacy and stuff but only because they want their books to be good.
Can't wait for BRISINGR!!!!!!

your mother is a very silly woman
either that or she thinks being an author is a dream and you need to do a degree so you can get a normal job
its not like theres even a degree for being an author, there are courses on creative writing but they dont give you any form of degree/diploma
writing is very much an art form, yes the english language has a set of rules that you can't really stray from but just like any kind of art, writing is a way of expressing ideas and emotions.
so like art you can learn to do it better but you dont need a certificate to do it

Re: What would you like to be when an adult?
I'd like to be a cartoonist, and if I can't be that then I'd like to be a video game designer/3D programmer.
And as a 3rd option: an author
