What would spyro look like if RAZZ made him out of clay.

This was an interesting thought because of the fact that most of her art is on paper. Sculpture is something that takes art into a 3 dimensional prospect and is a little more fun if you ask me.

I think it wont be hard for her to do clay projects at all she already knows how to use all the senses needed already. The first time when i took an art class in this i noticed just how hard it is. you need to use your since of touch and balance as well. She is going to go into graphic design why not take it a step further and make sculptures.

Razz is probably already intuned greatly in visually making a pose on paper why not tackle another form of art as well. She puts herself down a lot because of the fact that she is a visual person and i am the same way to. Most of the bad grades that i get come from the fact that not everything is visually learned. If you have imagination than wouldn't it be easy to imagine a pose in your head and then twirl it to see all the important parts.

Re: What would spyro look like if RAZZ made him out of clay.

What do you mean by that? I am not kissing up if you mean that i am trying to grab Razzes attention your wrong. What are you trying imply? I just simply think that it would be interesting to see if Razz would like to do clay dragons. She would be an interesting story.

Like "The fire within" where the dragons come to real life only this would be a true story about some one who was inspired by her disability to overcome the imposable like Beethoven who was death. He would pound on an instrument just to hear the noise it made and he was famous for what he did. "Kissing up" ya sure what ever you say. real laugh thats what i think. You would not know the meaning of it.

I think you are kissing up to Razz to make up for the comment about her art.

Re: What would spyro look like if RAZZ made him out of clay.

Oh really? That is an interesting thought. Don't you think i have let that go. How long ago was it? a month. The fourth of july past and I have lots more on my mind. For instance a youth retreat that is tomorrow. In my past I have been hurt by my own church and my mother thinks that I should see if I can gain common ground. I have gained a good friend in her and i think she would be a strong ally. How about getting back to topic? I am open minded and if you ask nicely I might open the topic to discuss this on general chat.

More like -A Guy-, please don't bicker. Adam is defending himself reasonably.

There's a self-portrait of Razz on her deviantart, IIRC. Maybe someone could make a clay model out of that.
And you could take that even a step further. I'm currently working with a 3D laser scanner that scans out objects and projects them as movable 3D projections onto the computer. There are a lot of uses for 3D scanners - one of the most common uses for media and design is that you can create a 3D prototype of an object that you can animate in other programs. Pixar uses 3D scanners to scan clay models of characters they depict. The 3D model on the computer is later animated for use in movies.

Re: What would spyro look like if RAZZ made him out of clay.

That is interesting. Don't they usually use a mixture of corn starch and water to make prototypes and if so how accurate is it. Here is an interesting thought how much money would one one pay for a prototype of a sculpture. Is it anything like photo shop where you can make corrections to your sculpture.

One thing that i have always thought is it better to have the original peace of art than a copy since it would be worth more when the artist gets famous than a copy. This is another thing that separates us amateurs from professional artist that they can make it perfect without using the computer to make corrections. Art is not a product of mathematical design.

A scanner like that is used for engineering and a wonderful tool at that. My friends at school would do anything to get the money to purchase this device and a prototyping machine. What do you think, could it be used to enlarge a small sculpture and then the artist can redesign it and make it by hand even bigger by using the proportions on computer? There is still the question how much would it be worth. What is the difference between hand made and computer aided?

Of course. You could scan a toy soldier and then eventually make a life-sized version of it, using the 3D image file that's produced on the computer.
The 3D scanner is applied for many industrial purposes as well. For example, let's say you want to mass produce a pipe. Scan the pipe you want to mass produce. The 3D model on the computer can then be translated into information for digital 3D printers that sculpt the shape of the pipe on clay (or whatever surface it's working on), creating a mold that serves as a template for future purposes.

This is the scanning software and hardware I've been learning to use recently. See "gallery" for examples of 3D scanning application. A good example that shows the modification of an object in regards to size is the Buddha head statue.

Re: What would spyro look like if RAZZ made him out of clay.

What career are you thinking about taking. You said that you have been learning the software recently. I study programming since i want to go into digital electronics with a side hobby of art so that my parents can say they have raised me to be smart. Art is an easy way out for me to get away from life. As i like to say leave my life behind to weep another day. This is interesting how this came up. Here I am talking about Spyro as a sculpture and then my interests in engineering gets me off topic oh well at least it gives some one else to talk about what they enjoy.

Re: What would spyro look like if RAZZ made him out of clay.

Oh, well I'm aiming to do something in mineralogy as a career.
My summer job is to study meteorites, craters, and other astromaterial-related things. As part of documentating recent meteorites my prof and his working grad student found recently, I'm supposed to now 3D scan some of them into models on the computer. It's pretty tedious, since scanning takes hours. It's harder to scan well when you have a rock or meteorite, most of which are irregularly shaped, and the surfaces may have various degrees of reflectivity (shiny, metallic, or black objects are hard to scan).

Dragon protector x

in my opinion it does not matter how crafty you are or were you made it. It only matters that you are trying and staying with it. So who cares if people say that a clay whatever you made looks bad its art and in this case it only matters if you like what you made. HINTs the reason why I say there is no fine line to genus. How can anything that some one makes by hand not be art? The only way we could say whether it is art or not is if it was made mathematically there for it is either a prediction or an invention.

Re: What would spyro look like if RAZZ made him out of clay.

Wee another critic. Why would i be kissing up to Razz if it was so long ago that i made the statement. Even the moderators have let it go and i am a good friend of Razz. I even think of her as a valuable ally. Without her i probably would not have as many people know me. I am not hated on this forum. Am I and if so “WHO” ?!!

Who hates me on this forum?

Don't take it seriously. Anyways, moving on.

Does Razz have a "character" that she likes to portray herself in art?

Re: What would spyro look like if RAZZ made him out of clay.

To answer that question we would have to get her to reply to this thread but she is going through some problems mainly her back and neck. She said that she is going to have a surgery. She also said that the doctor scared her of what they are going to do. Lets see how good i am with links. Click on the link for more info on it because I rather you go read her words for yourselves than if I had copied and pasted it here.

Re: What would spyro look like if RAZZ made him out of clay.

I give her a comment every now and then but really she does not seem to like seeing me on there. I always thought of it as my questions being answered at her convenience but she keeps saying she is on vacation. I would leave a question like I said but she answers it to what seems like the first she sees it and complains that it is an inconvenience so I leave them now shorter and not as often. She says she is my friend and as good friends do “cut each other slack” This is what she told me so far;

[glow=orange:13c3dba9a5] “I like to portray emotions and a sense of movement the most in my work. No matter how basic the sketch, as long as people can tell what the characters in it are feeling, then I feel I've done my job right.”[/glow:13c3dba9a5]

[glow=cyan:13c3dba9a5] “I like to draw whichever characters are in my head at the time: characters from games, movies, comics, books, and, of course, my own original creations. I've never run out of ideas yet. And I write, too. The reason I'm not posting anything right now is because I'm not at home; I'm on vacation.”[/glow:13c3dba9a5]

Of course you can see that these are her words and not mine so I did not want to break apart her words so she seems to be very happy with herself. *sigh*
