Skin and Banner

Hi.
I just want to request if we could maybe change our banner and skin (especially skin) as the skin has been around since this forum started more 2 years ago and the banner has been around since halloween.

Maybe we could have a baner contest (our next monthly contest) and you could ask someone where to get a good skin. I'd personally like a nice yellow and purple skin (not too bright).
I'm not too destressed about the pink skin (i was a bit wary when i first came here) but it would be nice to have a change once in a while from the same old.

Pleease, Spyrorocks and others, take this request into considerastion and dont post things like "We're working on it" or nothing at all, and none of your "tricks" Spyrorocks.

Yellow and purple sounds like something out of a Hazmat suit. No offense

I suggest three themes. Original, New and DoTD.

You can load up the forum with lots of themes, and let the user pick what they want. SR just has to load up the themes and turn off the theme override to let users choose what theme they want. Then everyone will have the theme they are comfortable with and everyone's happy.

"Tricks?" Honestly, making and testing themes takes a lot of time. Uploading polished themes takes a lot of time, especially on a dialup. You are just watching while SR works on them, so be considerate. (Though the responses of SR should be reasonable...)

Id like to do a ANB/TEN/DotD skin in the future.

I think people forget that this is a lot of hard work (for the skins anyway) and Spyrorocks has clarified that several times.

A new banner would be nice though tongue .

Sorry Spyrorocks, it was just a suggestion and yes i know its very hard to create new skins/get skins (except for when i made my invisionfree forum, it was really easy then, but maybe Spyroforum is different).

And what i meant by tricks is when you say something like "It will be done by next week" when it hasn't or "we're working on it" when you arn't. Its ok to tell me that we cant do it now.

I agree with Ratchet. While I have no skills in implementing any new skins, I would think that more would only help the forum.

Yes, although it might be hard, (which I have no idea if it is) I think me and many other people would like a new skin and/or banner.

Phpbb skins are hard to make (and I know this because I have tried) as for free forum hosting the hardest one out of them all is IPBFREE as it asks you to edit every last piece of a forum so you get the skin you want.

If I could get my hands on a decent phpbb skin template I would help out for this but that would be if I can edit it to make look good enough for Spyrorocks' requirements tongue

This forum is not hosted by any free forum host or such. Its actual hosting where you have to manually install phpbb, but its nice because you have full access to all the php scripts for the forum for customization.
