Any persional experainces with spyro

I had a hard life when it came to the split between my imagination and my love for science. I have put myself down for imaginary creativity many times but over time art and creative writing burned in my heart.

[glow=cyan:784cedb828]Spyro that i look at it now is my way out of the Chaos of science. the worst thing that happened to me is stated right beneath this entree.

Fell in love with Spyro when I was little. I played it with my friends. They went different ways over time and I refused to let this go. I am seventeen and still enjoy playing the old games as well as the new. Game makers are of their own and I have no reason to disagree because they made it perfect

Re: Any persional experainces with spyro

My friends when I was little use to play this game with me. Callen and Garret. If your tender hearted than I caution you to read carefully for it is sad.

Over the years I fell in love with the game. Mystery, ecstasy, and the will to finish the game all were little to what I had for the game. MY friends found other games as they had finished playing the game but I started to rent many of the games to continue the story.

I grew up with the fantasy of dragons looking for anything related. I often put myself down for it because I wanted to be smart in science. It was not until three years ago that I actually gone into reading Eragon.

When it came about that I still liked Spyro so much the game of Spyro the new beginning came out and I bought it. Played it and loved it and once more my obsession grew.

Over the time that has passed by my two friends Callen and Garret grew up to let themselves be changed by everyone’s views. One day I was at my church with others there enjoying the Friday night playing games on the game councils that the church owned. My church was actually popular for this.

I was playing the game Spyro the new beginning and the teens beside me played lord of the rings. they happened to look at my TV and told me that it was a game for young kids. All this came to a shouting match. Everyone outside the room was too busy having fun.

My heart sank at their words. I was young at heart and I had no desire to change who I was and a stupid person beside me had to put me down for the fact that I was playing a simple E-rated game. I never was into gaming for the graphics.

I am listening to Metallica at this vary moment. The best song that could fit my emotions. My friend of misery.

keeping myself from crying I shut the outside voices out of my ears sitting there in silence after he gave up his debate. later on I see my friend Garret and told him what happened. He told me that we were young and that I should let it go but this did not change anything. Betraying me he left me in the dark room of my own misery.

I abandoned my love for science and technology for the hope to write a book. I am still writing it and my parents question weather it is good for me to be so secluded from the world. I am starting to hate science and technology for the fact that it is self promoting. The technology club I was in gave up robotics and out of everything else that happened to me these last three years I look up into gods eyes and prey that I can be accepted for who I am. What plan does he have for me I still don’t know.

I still look back at that time and tell myself that it was only careless words. If you read thus far i thank you for your sympathy. Just because I am seventeen does not mean I don’t have feelings. I am happy that there are other people close to my age on here that I can talk to.

Any questions or comments feel free to let me know.

Yeah, TLOS is more dragonish. Seeing the stereotypical dragon land is in a medievil setting, filled with magic and such.

Re: Any persional experainces with spyro

Hey take me for instance, yes I'm 33 now, I was 32 when I got my first glimpse of Spyro and it was through the game A Hero's Tail at my ex g/f's house, they had it on XBox ...

I got a PS2 for Christmas, and with it I got TLOS ANB to have a go at ... I found out yeah it's a good game, and so that's where my interest in the game grew .. I found out who the characters were, and I developed my favourites, and eventually named myself Volteer32 because my favourite character apart from Spyro IS Volteer himself, because I see parts of my persona in this character himself. Yeah he is smart, he can talk fairly quick, hey that's me when I've had one too many coffee's or cans of Coca Cola to drink ...

At work I've got Volteer on my desktop and I get shots from others, that's a kids game ... no it's NOT really a kid's game because there's others on here close to my age, take for instance the lovely Razz who's now a moderator on these here forums .. well done smile

So what if someone likes a game like this? It's all down to the person what they like and don't like ... if someone comes up to you and says to you "Spyro's a kids game I don't like it" well you look them square in the eye and say that's your opinion, do I go knocking you on what you like ? No?? well see ya later buddy ... hehehe (that's in general of course not aimed at anyone here)

Re: Any persional experainces with spyro

I am an avid science student, and love the spyro games.
I find that games of this type tend to be a good outlet from my life at school.

I am sorry to hear that you got teased for liking the spyro game, I have been teased almost my entire school life (not about liking games though), so I am quite able to hold no regard with what people say to me. Currently at school I am dubbed Nerd for being quite good at my studies and for being a smart-*bleep* know-all  :-P.

So I can relate to how you feel and I hope its consolation that there are people your age and older who still enjoy this game.

Shun the purple dragon! Oh wait... This is Spyro, was thinking of a different dragon fiction. Nevermind.

Re: Any persional experainces with spyro

i laugh at the fact that you call science self promoting and yet you still seem to follow your religion, in my experience theres nothing more self promoting than religion, not only is each one the "one true" religion, but the fact that God apparently requires us to "worship" him makes him a very vain individual

now thats not my opinion of god, i think, that if god does exist, then he really doesnt care if we believe in him, and i would like to think that any wise and powerful creator would not be so childish as to throw people into hell because they dont believe in something that cant be proven to exist

i also fail to see how you had to reject science because you wanted to write a book, an understanding of science is a big aid in writing any book, especially a fantasy genre, sure you could have magic which just works because its magic, but a lot of people prefer magic to have an explanation, and why mystical things happen, they dont have to be scientific explanations, but science makes you think about the way things work, and thus helps you think about how other things could work

and finally, you were teased? get over it, there are a lot of people who have been treated worse than you have for more sensitive issues, you talk about your 2 friends being changed by other peoples views? have you not changed because of what those teenagers said about the games you were playing, if it had been me i would have let it go, let them think that "kiddy" games are beneath them, thats their problem not yours, but instead you seem to be of the opinion that because you got bullied by some people that you have to stop liking science and go into seclusion because obviously nobody in the world understands you

kids these days, teenagers included, myself included, are pathetic, everything is suddenly blown out of proportion, suddenly the smallest acts of bullying become a reason for people to start cutting themselves because "life is hard" well guess what, it gets a whole lot harder

and for the record im 19, i want to write a book (have ideas but have trouble getting started) whilst i dont dabble in robotics or anything i do take interest in scientific theories and they dont interfere with my creativity, and finally one of my favourite games in the world is pokemon, i even watch the cartoons when i get the chance, if someone told me that was childish, id tell them that yes it is, but i enjoy it

im not writing this because i want to put you down, its because i see someone who is a bit like me, but the only difference is that youve let what a small group of people said affect your life, and you suffer from the misconception that science/religion and science/creativity cant coexist in one person, you shouldnt give up one love to pursue another, you can do both and end up a lot happier

also good luck with your book

Re: Any persional experainces with spyro

Wow....  I never realized how lucky I am.  There isn't a single person that I've met in Florida who doesn't respect who I am.  Heck, a lot of people ask me for assistance in school because I am what people consider smarter than most.  Anyway, I have one thing to say.  As long as you like who you are, no one else's opinion should matter.  You are who you are, and only you can change it.  There are just some people who need to grow up and realize that their opinions cannot change those of others, only influence it.  Sometimes they can't even do that.  To each his own, no matter what.  In other words, try not to let criticism about your likes and dislikes affect who you are.  No doubt they just want to make you feel bad about yourself.  It's simply the foul truth that that's how some people have fun.  That's all I really have to say, and hopefully it helps some.

There are two kinds of people in the world.  We have those who need a life, and then we have those who are dead already.

Re: Any persional experainces with spyro

You are an interesting individual Fletch_Talon to have such an opinion. Indeed i think of this as a way out. what i meant was that i wanted i reasonable way to use my knowledge without having to stretch the truth. The one thing that helps is other peoples opinions./ I will consider putting more thought into this if anything you have a real good point.

One thing; If god did not care than why is there so many times in my life that he finds me in the depths of my sorrow. He gives me a better reason to live.  You can go see for yourself. Are you saying that we both are idiots. By the way my Nick name is Dragon Missioner on other sites so feel free to say hi. Thanks for your opinion it seems to explain a little more to me.

i didnt mean that god doesnt care about us, what i mean is that he doesnt care if we believe in him or not, god is supposed to be the most powerful entity in existance, so why would he feel so insecure that he needs everyone to believe in him, but if you listen to most religions nowadays if you dont believe then youre going to hell

in other words i think religions have it wrong

and as much as i really want to argue more about this i can see it getting out of hand due to strong feelings i, and no doubt others have regarding the topic

also im not sure if english is a second language for you but your posts are a little hard to read, which would make a lengthy discussion difficult
