Re: The fight between new and old spyro

Well, I see valid points:

1. If you hate the games, why are you playing them?

2. That was directed at the people who were complaining over that they love the old Spyro and there is nothing good whatsoever about the new games. I find that insulting to be trashed for liking a game that they didn't. That's me defending my beliefs.

I sort of misread the topic. I thought it was people simply bashing the new Spyro. That was a mistake on my part.

Sometimes I miss your posts Stormy, they're so small. ;-)

Re: The fight between new and old spyro

I've yet to hear a good explanation of how changes in the mario series qualifies as a parallel to those in spyro

old spyro fans are not afraid of change, they do however dislike it when a game stops being made

and whats even worse is when a game stops being made and suddenly a game with the same name and a similar main character pops up, but make no mistake, its a completely different game, no longer do you get to collect things, interact with quirky characters, just relax and enjoy the view, or even choose where you go. instead you get... well tLoS

you dont have to play the games to complain/criticise about them, and you can simultaneously not play the games and criticise them at the same time too, its not the game itself that is the problem, its the difference between it and the old series

YOU DO NOT SEE THE FUTURE OR READ PEOPLES MINDS
you dont know whether spyro would be dead if not for tLoS
you dont know how well the old style games would sell now
you dont know how popular original spyro is or isnt

video games change to adjust to the times, they should not however stop making one game and start another under the same name

i dont think people realise that if you think about it (though granted theres no proof) the only reason to even give tLoS its name is to get people to buy it, they could have made it about a small green dragon named slippy, it could have the same story gameplay and everything, but it wouldnt sell as well for the sole reason that it doesnt have "SPYRO" written on it

ugh, tired now, must sleep bye

Did you know that the Need for Speed series have been rebooted FOUR TIMES?

Yet we still play it because of the story.

Spyro has evolved. If you can't accept that, go to a cave and sleep with a dinosaur.

Isn't that just a little bit harsh...? Seriously, what's the big idea with THE FIGHT? Oh noes, lets all yell at each other over a stupid video game. 2vmau4n.png  People have their opinions. The only reason why people are going on with this is because people keep insulting eachother about it.

[sub]OK, this argument is really starting to *bleep* me off now.

Doppel, did you even read any of the other posts in this thread? WE CAN ACCEPT CHANGE FINE; WE JUST DON'T LIKE THE FRIGGIN' GAMES! Just because we don't enjoy playing the new Spyro games doesn't mean we all have to go "sleep with dinosaurs," nor does it mean we're old fashioned, boring, stuck in evolution or whatever else the *bleep* you were implying. It simply means we dislike playing TLoS, and we're all very sorry if that offends you. If you're going to participate in this thread, please do so reasonably or not at all, or I won't rest until I've gotten my mod powers back and banned you.

I'm starting to think you just want something to troll about. Read some of the other replies and see what people had to say about the whole "can't accept change" nonsense.[/sub]

Re: The fight between new and old spyro

I can see where you're going Stormy. Some people just don't like the new games. Everyone has a right to their opinion. Just because someone doesn't like the new games doesn't mean they can't except change, it means they simply prefer the old games to the new.

Keep the insults to the one Spyro or another. Don't use personal insults. (I made that mistake and apologized)

Re: The fight between new and old spyro

[sub]Thank you; that is much appreciated. ^__^ I like the old games, and I don't see why some people don't like them, but I honestly couldn't care less as to their preference as long as they argue within reason.

I swear, if someone says I can't accept change one more time.... >__>

I like both I mean there is nothing wrong with the new Spyro If it made more Spyro fans come that's great news but no one should have to argue about it.

[sub]As a matter of fact I have read, and it seems to me that you switch opinions every other post or so, one minute saying that old and new Spyro are the same and the next saying that you shouldn't compare them. And if you'd bothered to do any reading at all you'd know why you shouldn't be telling us fans of the old games that we "can't accept change".[/sub]

Nah, that's because you misunderstand my ways. wink

I used to side both, but I feel the old fans are crybabies. I don't like to side with them. And they are annoying.

[sub]Well, that's a bit unfair of you, Doppel. I am not a crybaby, nor is anyone here. Though I suppose it would be up to you to decide if I'm annoying.

The reason we might come off as a bit complain-y is because we're always getting attacked by people saying we can't accept change, which, as I have stated about thirty-seven times now, is an unfair argument. We can accept that Spyro has changed, but that doesn't mean we have to like the new games.

I don't understand what's so difficult to understand about that. =/[/sub]

oh thats right i forgot how need for speed rebooted not long ago into a game where your car transforms into a robot and you go through first person shooter style levels, gaining experience to get up levels and earning GP to go buy that awesome new fishing rod

wait a minute... isnt need for speed a racing game?... wasnt it always a racing game?...

also can i ask how doppel became a mod exactly? last i checked members who insult others (or are "trashy" sometimes) tend to be at the bottom of the list titled "potential moderators"
