For one thing, people who say that TLoS sucks just have that opinion. People who say the original Spyro sucks just have that opinion. It's not in any way a question of which game has more fans.

Besides, the old games are over ten years old. Many people who used to be big fans have probably grown up and lost interest, just as you will with the new Spyro one day.

And finally, take a look at this, or any site that rates video games:

If you think the old Spyro sucks, then that's your opinion, and I respect that. But saying the new Spyro is better because it has more fans is just false for so many reasons.

Only reason why that is rated is because the tester was more of a puzzle player then fighting like the LOS series. Plus also only reason why the Los Series would be ranked a little lower is because it has a short game....

Even if that was true, it goes back to what I said before: it's all about opinions. It seems to me by the ratings I've seen on various sites that more people favor the old Spyro than the new Spyro. I'll find you more ratings if you want, but I trust you'll get the idea. [/sub]

That's just an opinion, though. I thought killing them was fun, especially once you've leveled up enough to kill them quickly. I think TLoS's biggest problem is that the games are too short.

Sadly, whilst I don't mind the storyline (Though for me, I prefer the original Spyro's personality, which attracted me to him in the first place) I really did find the gameplay on the newer games repetitive and rather boring. That was my opinion though.

The old series is gone, and while I'm disappointed that they won't make games like they used to, the old games probably don't have as many hardcore fans today simply because they're old and people have lost interest over the course of ten years. But again, that doesn't mean that they're bad games. [/sub]

XD i sat in a dabat in history class over weather or not Democracy was better then.....what ever it is called with every one is equal and 1 leader.... forgot what it is called....but yea I finialy got something after the whole debate but had bearly enough time to say it....and that won us the debate... People keep saying that they're were too many monkeys, but if there're weren't so many monkeys the game would be even shorter. Besides, the numerous enemies give you the feeling that you're fighting your way to Cynder or wherever you're going, as opposed to games like AHT where there are maybe three enemies standing together that are all killed by flame breath in less than two seconds because they don't have health bars. Besides, you can usually kill the annoying monkeys with flame breath very quickly, even the large ones. Large numbers of monkeys aren't a problem, they're easy to kill, so if there were very few apes it would be an even worse game (probably beatable in up to 30 minutes). Heck, it's a FIGHTING GAME anyways, not a platformer like the old ones.

[sub]Fair enough, but the thing is, not everyone likes that kind of gameplay. I, along with apparently many other people, prefer the simpler controls as opposed to constant combat button mashing stuff. That's what I've been trying to say all along: each to his own.

We could argue about the pros, the cons, and the reasoning behind the madness of the two series for hours and we'd still never agree on which is "better". What I say about the old Spyro is not going to make you like it any more. What you say about new Spyro isn't going to make me like it anymore.

I think agreeing to disagree is a much needed thing here...
Also, I'm not saying this to start a fight, but now I'm seriously certain that the old series will NOT return. After this quote made by Sierra worker, it looks like they're gone and done with it.

Will this be the last Spyro game or are there plans to make more after this finale?
Without a doubt, there will be more Spyro games in the future. The entire purpose of the trilogy was to re-establish the characters and the world in a way that would allow for growth and expansion. Weâ€™ve only scratched the surface.

NO FIGHTING. I'm just saying that it seems like they aren't going to revert to the old series when this one's finished. I'm glad about it, because after what the previous companies before T.L.o.S did, he'd gone past any hope of revival. I don't think even one with the right ideas would've managed it (though I did like them when I first played them).

I have to disagree with this. The real Spyro is what he originally was. You can't say that he was "fake" spyro all along until TLOS came to be. That doesn't make any sense. Face it dude, you could hardly call TLOS the same Spyro series it was, its changed so much that its like a whole new Series! Meaning the new Fans are just the fans of a series that destroyed Old Spyro.

I wont fight, but the fact is, ME AND ALL THE ORIGINAL SPYRO FANS KNOW that old Spyro isn't comming back.(unless the publishers read all our posts and think about how much the old Spyro benifited them, but this happening is zero to nil), but you probably already know that....

OOC:I do debating at my school, but i'm not that good, probably because of two reasons:
1.I'm only really good on things i'm passionate about, like Spyro
2.You have to wait until they finish their speech until you talk, and you cant debate against the person who rebutted you.

And yeah, no series is really "better", its all opinions, its JUST A DISCUSSION TOPIC!
