Deja vu, so here we go again.

Needs a little fix. Maybe we should pick the courses we like and meet the profession we will take up.

Re: The Education System
I hate it. I hate school. Needs more classes like Animation or computer graphics, and the lunch at my school sucks.

Re: The Education System
Okay, time for a clean slate. Like many "old vs. new" topics popping up every now and then.

I think we just have to live with it...

Re: The Education System
This topic makes no sense whatsoever. How are you going to say the education system needs to be changed if people on this forum come from around the world. I live in the U.S.A. you live in Austrailia. Doppel lives in Canada. There are members from Europe on here. They are so different that they can't be compared.

Then let's compare them to a general viewpoint then.

Yeah, there's this rule in our county that states that we can't curse. I hear teachers do it all the time.

Re: The Education System
If I wanted to, I could walk through the front doors of our school and kill 50 students before anyone knew what happened. They leave the doors wide open to the park where gang members hang out.

Re: The Education System
So, the main point here is that people thin that some schools are under-protected.

Re: The Education System
I hate my school. Even in hot weather we have to wear our jumpers and our blazers to and from school and to assembley and chapel. We get automatic detention if we dont. And the teachers are really strict and stuff.

Re: The Education System
The real problem is that these teachers can't relate to kids. Now I'm in an advanced program, and so we have slightly smaller class sizes, and most of the kids have come from stable home lives and don't misbehave (most of them). And so my teachers are able to handle them and teach us what need to be taught. But for the regular classes, with large class sizes, with kids who are on parole and really bad, or have just had a rotten life, it is really hard for the teachers to relate to them. I've made friends with some of those kids, and their home lives are horrible, they're parent(s) have had to take two or more jobs to make ends meet, and so there hasn't been anyone around to teach these kids right from wrong. But most of them are smart. This one girl, she was my friend, and she was really nice once you got to know her, and I helped her apply herself, and she brought her D in math up to a B. They're getting the material, they just either don't care enough, or don't know how to apply it. And I think that teachers today need to learn how to help them do that.

Re: The Education System
Needs some changes. We have too many "wanna be tough guys" in my school. Most of the food suck, only few are delicious. Food are made too simple. We can pick classes we want at the end of 7th grade to have them for 8th and 9th grade. We might not get them, but still it's a good thing. I got all classes I picked! Yay me! We don't have any certain school clothes, we can just be ourselfs. Some teachers of mine are too mean. One of them gives a marking for being 30 seconds late. Music lessons literally suck! We will have more space, because about 200 stundents move to new school what is closer to them. There's couple good things in my school, but I prefer freedom.

Re: The Education System
Yeah, because of budget cuts, we no longer have out of zone busing, so a LOT of kids from my school won't be there next year.

Luckily for me, I'm an honor student so I don't have to deal with the jerks too often.

Re: The Education System
Our school is progressively getting worse, but it's been good enough for all of my years. I just hope the kids who got an accreditation in a nearby county don't come to ours and ruin it.
Mm .. Just 1 more year .. Let's go. :-P
