I hate long summers though. They get boring after a while.
But I also hate how they're trying to shorten it ... That's just not cool.
I'd prefer shorter summer and more short breaks.

Right now i am so annoyed with my school. I go to a private school and all the other private schools in the area have got 3 weeks of holidays and we only have 2. I dont finish till Thursday. And at the end of the year the other private schools finish on the 4th of december and we finish on the 12th. I hate school so much.

Woah, yours are set up weird....... To me that is. Here's what my term times are:

Autumn Term = 4th September '07 - 21st December (with the half term holidays from 19th-29th October)
Christmas Holidays last 2 weeks and 2 days

Spring Term = 7th January '08 - 20th March (half term holidays from 8th-18th February)
Easter holidays last 2 weeks and 3 days

Summer Term = 7th April - 11th July (half term holidays 23rd May-2nd June)
Summer holidays last from July until the new academic year starts in September, though I don't know the date for that yet.

acording to my calculations, you get a total of around 17 weeks, here in Australia we only get 11, you're LUCKY LUCKY LUCKY LUCKY!

our school year starts in September, and ends halfway into June. And then with vacations and such I think we have between 8 and 9 months of school

Wow, that's a lot of learning! School for me goes from September to June, but we get 2 weeks for christmas and 1 week for March Break. Oh and don't forget the P.A days and holidays like Easter!

My school is a bit different. Heres how my holidays go im coping them out of my school diary:

Term 1: 29th January to 20 March

Term 2: 8th of April till 27th June

Term 3: 15th July to 12th September

Term 4: 7th October till 12th December

Im in Victoria by the way Ratchet so that may be different from were ever you are.

I don't have terms... but for us in Texas, we get school from August to either May or June, with about 3 months of Summer, 2 weeks winter break, 1 week Spring break, and I'm not sure if we have a break for fall... I forgot... But I'm in middle school and changing schools, so it might be a little diff.

That's very similar to ours in Georgia. But we go on from August to May.

Other than that, we have a summer, 2 week semester break (this is the one in December.), 1 week winter break (February), and a week for spring break.

P.H means Public Holidays, we have 3 this year, and we've already dont them.
