Yes. Entities that are able to manifest enough to become solid enough that light doesnt penetrate them. They look like Shadows that peeled off the ground or walls and are running around.

Well naturaly they are like the spirits that like to have fun, but these like to strike more fear into you. Like i was explaning it takes alot of energy to manifest...well they got all the energy they needed to manifest into a solid black figur for a certain time...untill they run out of energy to keep the in that form.

Is there really such thing as a residual (spelling?) haunting? One where a spirit has no control and does the same things over and over again. It's been referred to on Ghost Hunters.

Yes, apparitions do appear from time to time and repeat things with no awareness of your presence.

just thought id let you know, i assume you mean banshees, and the original story revolves around the female spirits who supposedly if heard screaming by someone was an omen of you, or someone close to you, being close to death, some people thought that each family was "assigned" a banshee for this purpose, kinda like a warning sign

of course that doesnt mean thats the truth behind it all, merely superstition so carry on smile

its not so much a literal "assigning" there isnt a council of banshees who give missions to newbies or anything

people just believed that their family had a spirit whose purpose in life was to warn them of death, some may have believed it was the spirit of an ancestor who was helping out and stuff, im not an expert on the subject i just know bits and pieces

I wouldn't say they're exactly scared of the light, but it does make them need more energy to manifest, yes. In fact, I've heard of some instances where someone can have a lamp or TV turned on and they manifested fully, but That sounds like a block o' hooey. smile

In fact that is quite possible (As long as it is not a demonic or residual haunt). If you accept the Spirit in to your home, family, daily activities, etc. You may very well become acquainted with a ghost, but beware, if you meet a spirit from a Ouija board, they are most likely lying about being your friend and are out to get you. Watch out if your Ouija board speaks! =o

it's a board with the alphabet on it yes no and numbers
it has a medallien or something and everyone puts a finger on it and asks a question
the spirit spells it out for them

Normally, two or three people sit at a Ouija board placing their fingers lightly on the 'cursor', which is a small often heart-shaped object with a see-through center, big enough for one letter at any given time. One or more people will write down the conversation between the participants and the alleged "Spirits", and usually if a bad spirit does come "from" the Ouija board, you need to burn it immediately.

NEVER EVER USE A Ouija board.... They seem fun, but it has been proven that some how those boards connect to the spirit relm...If you arnt careful with them you could acctualy summon up a powerful demon like Satian right hand demon or something...They shouldnt even be should, but they still are....Dont use them....

For the lights question.... Its not that they are afraid of light, most ghosts hate the fact that they are dead and wish be hidden, the few that do show them selves arent afraid of light, they really dont care, but most really stay from the light because it depresses them.
