Re: What OS are you using?
Eh, I'm happy with my Windows XP. It gets the job done - that's all I need. :-P
No need for me to pay more for Vista.

Re: What OS are you using?
Microsoft will keep trying to patch up vista until they come out with something new.
And DragonFireOKN, if something went wrong while trying to "fix" vista, you wouldn't send it back to MS, youd either fix it yourself, get someone else to fix it, or take it back to the store that you bought it from.

If you did something to void the warrenty, you wouldn't get any help from most stores. I suppose you could pay someone at a local computer store to fix it. Or better yet, remove it completely and get a better OS. Anyway, Vista is supposedly getting replaced by Windows 7 in 2009.

Re: What OS are you using?
All Vista is bad. You can't fix a terrible system. It would be easier, cheaper, and less risky to pay $50 for my uncle to rip Vista off and put XP back on.
Apparently you can reduce the CPU usage of Vista down to about 20% and therefore have things running more efficiently by tweaking certain controls (I don't have Vista so I don't know the specifics). There's still an unavoidable downside to Vista, and that is many programs are still not compatible with it. I'm still wondering if downgrading to XP for about $100 is worth it.

Re: What OS are you using?
You can reduce the resources by disabling Aeroglass and/or the special effects.
I set mine to disable them when I go on battery to save power.

Re: What OS are you using?
I have a Windows 2000 installed onto NT x.X
Really old & slow, but it runs just fine and does everything I need to do.
You can't see me! I'm invisible!
You can't see yourself! You don't know who you are. O<

You probably don't use your PC for the same tasks as I do, so you wouldn't know all the faults it has because you never have to deal with them.

I'm using a wii right now. I have a computer with XP, but it is SLOW. I use my wii for most internet browsing and my computer for things only a computer can do.
