im pretty sure IQ tends to be a test of your problem slving ability and the ability to find patterns and stuff like that, theres more to intelligence than just that

also, believing something like this doesnt necessarily make you unintelligent, its more a sign of gullibility, which could be due to the way you were brought up (believing everything youre told) whilst most people know to question things like this because theyve learnt through life to not just blindly believe something until youve looked into it extensively

A virus is only information. It doesn't have a physical form, like a germ. No matter what should happen to your information, you'll always have something to rebuild it on.

As I said, the "critical data" is on the MFT or the Partition Table. A virus will take that out usually.

Ok, I know this virus isn't real, but even IF it was real, it is impossible to infect a Mac with a virus. We all know that there aren't many viruses for Mac, but the way the OS is built makes it impenatrable, even to a virus that was MADE for Mac.

Mac is built off of UNIX, a very flexible system that allows viruses to come in ONLY if you type in your password, and even then it can't effect the very deep parts (only the Mac OS X updates from Apple themselves can).

Windows is NOT built off of UNIX, and even though it is flexible, it isn't safe because the OS can be effected very simply. You can even go into the Windows files and mess around with the .dll files (which will probably crash your computer).

The only way for a virus to appear on a Mac is if you hacked Apple themselves... And of course that is impossible because they are running a Mac.

The simplest way to put a virus on Windows is if you send it to them.

That is why Macs are invincible to viruses.

There are viruses for Macs, but it's not that common. Where did you get the info that macs are based on UNIXes? I thought that macs are propriety.

I laugh at those who say macs cannot be affected by viruses. My uncle has a mac and it has been hit by countless viruses. He has Powerbook and Macbook Air. They both get viruses occasionally.

The Powerbook and Air are among the most targeted systems. Plus, it might not be viruses. Since 10.5 (Leopard) just came out, a lot of bugs still exist. Who's to say Vista's better?

I got a gutted laptop with Ubuntu running on it. It works like glass, never got a virus and I can go to SpyroForum with no lag at all. And best of all, it's a free download! big_smile

It can also be loaded on the PS3 via the "Install other OS" option. I want to use it on my PS3 when I get one.

It's very good for it's intended purpose, which is typing, internet and video/audio playing.
