Who here thinks animes a bit........

Weird? I dont know, any anime i've watched i've found very strange and plotwholed, the character's personalities are always really over the top and kinda unbelievable. I used to watch Pokemon when i was younger but.....eh.......
Some of them have good ideas but i think just would only be good as video games..... i dont know..... i just dont like anime really much. do you?

I've never liked anime. I hate the art style, I hate most of the plots, I hate the character designs - everything about it just repels me.
Of course, everyone thinks I'm a nutcase because of this, but meh, life goes on. I still can't describe just how much I hate the art style. Every time I go on DeviantArt it's ALL frickin' bug-eyed, sparkly-poo, pink-haired KAWAII NEKO DESU DESU's... sorry, it's kind of a sore spot with me. =P I really miss unique cartoon styles, they're almost extinct nowadays.

I strongly dislike anime. I'm sorry to anyone who might be offended by that.
I hate they way all the characters look. They're just hideous.
And it's always about some ninja or samuri or fighting or something dumb like that.
I only like one anime novel/movie, and that's Baron: The Cat Returns.
And I'll always like Pokemon, but I consider that more of just a popular kids cartoon now...

I happen to love anime but well not all anime. The animes I like are dargonball z/gt, bleach, and much more but the main reason I like it is because well its fun to watch and also it gives me many ideas for fan fics etc (hence my spyro fan fics)

well I can see all of your points but it seems to me that you all hate the art stle
but if you can get past that some anime's (not all mind) can have very engaging storylines

i remember i watched dragon ball Z and a 1 fight went on for like 2 weeks worth of episodes (10 episodes)

Eh, I've never liked it. I remember a friend of mine making me watch Dragonball Z once ... I think I was about 10.
It's just different. Never found a liking towards it.

Anime is "weird" often because it has many references to Japanese culture. Big anime eyes and love-saturated storylines might be more appealing to the Japanese audiences (my guess). I like some anime, but I know there are a lot of other obscure anime shows that I've never even heard of nor like. As ratchet said, video game adaptations or Shonen Jump comics are more recognizable amongst the Western audience and those stand a good chance of being very popular.

This is so true. The episodes, however, follow the manga very closely so I guess that's what you get. tongue
I can say the same about Pokemon. It takes like 20 episodes for Ash to get from one gym to another. The in-between stuff are filler episodes.
