Spyro 2 On PSP

Yep, I finally did it. I got Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage to play on one of my psps.

I could easily get spyro 1 working as well, but I have had no luck with spyro 3.

Spyro 2 plays at full speed, maybe even better/faster then actually using a ps1.

Here are some pictures that I took of it...

(None of them have been edited in any way, other then sized down a bit to reduce file size.)

I guess this will hold me until they make a psp spyro game.. tongue

Re: Spyro 2 On PSP

Yeah. I don't got a playstation 1, so this is better then playing it on a emulator on pc.

Re: Spyro 2 On PSP

Yeah emulators kind of suck in a way. So what was the problem with Spyro 3 to the PSP?

Re: Spyro 2 On PSP

Oh Spyro 3 uses a different engine (That is newer) than 1 and 2, so converting it over is a little hard. Im working on it though.

Re: Spyro 2 On PSP

You're right in saying that it can be better than an emulator. I tried that, yet while it played well for most of the time, the cutscenes tend to either have audio skippages or lose them all together. >.>
Still it sounds awesome that you managed to get them to play on a PSP. That takes some really commendable effort, especially without a PS3 and no connection to the Playstation Network service. Nice work smile

Man! I can't even find a Rom for Spyro the Dragon on the internet! :'(
My copy of the game is missing somewhere and I can't find it! I've searched under "Spyro Rom" and "PSX Roms" and "Spyro the Dragon Rom", but still nothing!  :-[

Re: Spyro 2 On PSP

I don't think it would work on a ps3. Isn't ps3 backwards compatible with ps1 games?

As for how I did it: It is way more complicated then just using a converter, trust me! There is even a chance that you could wreck your psp, so it would become useless and never work again.

Re: Spyro 2 On PSP

Ž · ...the fuss about making PS1 games on PSP is a bit old, so I'm not surprised that SR can do this.

Pretty fun having Spyro in your hand always.

Yeah, especially if it's one of the classics.
