DFD, stop spamming. I am beginning to dislike the amount of spam that has been ignored over the past few weeks. Anyway,

Scorch- Dragons, contrary to popular belief, are not reptiles at all. Reptiles are cold blooded, Dragons are not. Dragons originated at the beginning of time. They really didn't evolve at all. Dragons turn oxygen into hydrogen and have an organ that creates a spark causes flames to erupt. We then push it through our specially designed throat so it doesn't burn and control the blaze with our tongues.

BY THE WAY, THIS IS A TOPIC WHERE I ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS! NOT FOR PEOPLE TO RANDOMLY FIRE ANSWERS THAT THEY THINK ARE TRUE!!!

Before this question gets asked: Dragons can fly despite our size because our bones are hollow and helium is in a special gland below our stomach that allows us to be lightweight.

No, only hatchlings need to eat it once or twice. It is what activates our "flame" gland.

I'll fill in the fine-tuning details.

"Platinum" according to our chemistry class is a catalyst. It increases the reaction of a certain elements without being used up in the reaction itself. Since platinum is not being used up at any point of life, they shouldn't need to eat it again. Unless they somehow lose it or something. Like.... Losing the tooth?

Platinum is also used up in (rather ineffective) catalytic converters in vehicles. It breaks down the extremely poisonous carbon monoxide vehicles produce. Since catalysts are not being consumed, it's good for the life of the car. (Unless it gets clogged, obviously.) However, cat converters are flawed and need warmup time before working properly. The car produces 70% of it's pollutants during this warmup time and it is unfiltered by the cat converter. No wonder there still pollution! >_<

Nor do I, you've said that they convert oxygen to hydrogen to create a suitable flammable gas for their firey breaths (You must have been typing fast as I thought it would have been water, oxygen and hydrogen are different elements altogether, though both are found in water aka H2O) but how do they do this? And I second Dopple's question, doesn't magic flow through them? After all dragons are considered magical creatures.

Well, if its in vapour form I don't think so, though it may well cool the fire down. I think what DFOKN means is that somehow (this is what I wanna know how exactly they do this) the dragon breaks up water into oxygen and hydrogen and retains the hydrogen in a gland below its stomach, it will obviously just use up the oxygen for respiration etc. It then uses some sort of spark mechanism in its mouth to ignite the fire as it literally belches it up. Am I right DFOKN? Come to think of it, if they use too much hydrogen wouldn't they be unstable in the air?

? Do you mean the fire in them would cause the water to evaporate and, heaven forbid, they explode due to the expanding gas? Good point and I dunno. We should wait for DFOKN to come online again.
