our school hours are 8:45 - 3:30
but yahoo don't get home till 5

Cool reddragon! One step closer to getting into high school, (which is a scary place I can tell you right now. But it's also a good experience)

Geez DragonWithinMe, I wish I could start school that late! I hate getting up early! I'm always so tired!!!!!!! That's what makes me lazy to go to school in the first place! >_< I feel sad now. It feels like I'm the only one who has to get up so early!

we are in secondary school
primary is reception or at my old school kindergarden - 6
secondary is 7-6th form /12

You have 1 hour longer day than I have. Mine is 9:05 - 2:45. I wouldn't live in England for that long days.

This is what i do for my day.....

5:30am Get up
7:00am mum takes me to bustop
7:15am bus comes, late as usual
8:45am bus arrives at school
3:30pm school ends, i get on bus
3:45pm bus starts to move
5:00pm get back home
9:00pm go to bed

most of my day is on the bus.

I know reddragon! I'm such a lucky little dragon! big_smile XD And actually dragonwithinme, our days aren't very long. we have 8 periods and they're all 55 minutes on a regular day. on a wednesday, they're all 35 minutes long.

When you get into collage reddragon12 you will be happy with your school hours, for one thing my hours are 9.00 - 4.15 and secondly you actually have to do work! To me secondary school was just one big mess around! And I got 2 A*s, 3 As and 5 Bs! And Dark Fury Dragon the grades are completely different in the UK compared to the US. We start school at four years old (I'm pretty sure in the US its 6) and we can finish education and go into work at 16, though most choose to go onto further education in collage and university.
These are our school years (the ages refer to how old the kids are in that year, I think in the US if you don't do well you have to repeat a year, that doesn't happen in the UK. Correct me if I'm wrong though):

Reception - ages 4-5 (though we can go to nursery at 3 years)
Year 1 - 5-6
Year 2 - 6-7
Year 3 - 7-8
Year 4 - 8-9
Year 5 - 9-10
Year 6 - 10-11

That is known as Primary School

Year 7 - 11-12 (reddragon12 is in this year)
Year 8 - 12-13
Year 9 - 13-14
Year 10 - 14-15
Year 11 - 15-16

This is known as Secondary School, after this we can technically leave education and start work. Though it has been proposed to make people carry on education until they are 18.

Year 12 - 16-17 (I'm in this year, at my collage its known as Lower Sixth)
Year 13 - 17-18 (Known at my collage as Upper Sixth)

And these are the collage years, after this we can either leave education for work or carry on to uni. Uni itself can last anything from 2-5 years depending on what course you choose to take.

My dad started calling the buses Twinkies! It's so funny! And also, when he spots a bus he goes, "Look! The bussssssssssssss." LOL It's so funny!

Pretty long to me! We have 6 periods each 45 minutes. Sometimes shorter if some of my classmates has done something. Like one of them gets always late for class these days. Buys usually energy drinks.
