If you are saying why are some animals are raised for food, then the answer is pretty obvious. Peeps need to eat, and if they don't eat, they die. So instead of death, they'll eat protein. No offense. sad

Slaughtering animals oir killing them is part of any carnivorous or omnivivous' animals intinct. And We make hilling humans not animals against the law because 1. We dont eat the humans we kill so it is a waist and 2. Humans are alot smarter and acoomplish more in their lives. Ofcource we d hunt Deer and Foxes and that for sport but i am not for that myself, but if people want to do it it is fine with me because it is human instinct just like eating meat, but i see what you are getting at. If you want to be a vegetarian that is fine with me, just dont bash people who arn't, because it is instinct, just like hunting.
WE do try and put hunting endagered species to a stop, otherwise we wouldn't of created the law, but as i said there is NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT. But still, as i have said, animals come and go... if they become extinct they do, it is a natural coarce in life.
Breeding animals for slaughter is what hiumans have been doing as long as we have been eating, its instinct. I Know that it is unfair to these animals to be killed but we cant help it, we are only human. Ask the cats why they kill so much birds!

Re: Am I the only one worried about the world these days ???????

Too right ratchet. Thats what I meant about preaching the issues when everyone knows about it already. If humans are equal to animals then why should we not eat meat? Long ago we had to eat meat to survive, as all animals did. And now we still must do so, because the human digestive system hasn't evolved to survive properly on vegetation alone. WE CAN'T DIGEST IT, no animal can, not even cows, why do you think cows have 4 stomachs? They have a compartment which contains BACTERIA which breaks down the veg. Rabbits eat pellets bacause only bacteria in their intestines can break down their food, they take advantage of the bacteria as cows do. Humans do not have these bacteria in their stomachs, thats why its called fibre, the main things that veg does for us is move things along through our gut and provides hydrogen molecules to help stop free radicals from destroying DNA (I'm doing A-Level Biology). There are also neccessary vitamins and minerals that the body needs that can only be obtained from animals, not just protein (so beans are no good!). It is no good just to take supplements because these are extracted from animals anyway! For example goats have been genetically modified to produce human insulin in their milk, if you have a relative with diabetes then this is the likely place where their medication comes from! If they're not then they are extracted from bacteria, which is still killing an organism for our own needs. All animals slaughter each other all of the time, if we are equal to animals then whats wrong with killing for food? Its been happening since life evolved in the Pre-Cambrian period.

Re: Am I the only one worried about the world these days ???????

I think I should put more effort into protecting edangerd animals. Also...        Here in Ottawa were having a problem with rabid coyotes killing dogs and moving in closer to the sub-tavishuns. All because of recent development in the area.Like they REALLY should have thought about what was there before they started construction. My friends dog kiki was eaten on the street. Luckily I live a 64-acre lot and I found prints, poo, and eaten carceses alover. The problem is gone now. But its defenatly something to consider.

Um yeah. We need to eat meat dude. If we only ate plants we wouldn't be as strong as we should be and there are high concentrations of certain minerals in meat that we need eg: Iron in red meat...

plz see my point animals are living creatures
people kill each other and get put in
prison but if a animal kills someone
then they are shot or put down so why
is it ok to let some one live when they've killed
someone but if animals do then they die
they r not our 2nds they have as much
right as us

Re: Am I the only one worried about the world these days ???????

The problem between the more concerned and the less concerned people in regards to animal cruelty is that people on both ends have a different definition of what is considered cruel and they have different priorities in what's important to the world.

reddragon12 and animal cruelty activists see the whole situation as caring for nature and pushing for laws that can increase the safety of other animals because it's not "fair" that animals are treated differently than humans. People on the other side of the table argues that they would rather focus on economics and resources - their main priorities aren't about nature and they don't feel that nature lovers should override their priorities. And of course, there are those who simply apply the Darwin theory about survival of the fittest as an adequate reason to keep the world at its current status quo (i.e. Humans evolved to be highly intelligent beings, so there's no reason why they shouldn't put good use to it over others). It's a complex issue, mainly because people place their priorities on different things.

And reddragon12, could you please post in a manner other than poetry? K thx.

Re: Am I the only one worried about the world these days ???????

WE lock up Humans And kill animals after murders because simply Animals Can Not be punished. They dont know that they have done wrong, so they dont know why they are in jail, so it is not making them think about what they have done. BUt i get what you are getting at, why cant we just lock up them for the rest of their life? WE cant, it takes so much resources and is kinda a waist of space.

Re: Am I the only one worried about the world these days ???????

Very true ratchet, they are animals, all they are bothered about is surviving and passing on their genes. You can see the example with wolves in a pack, they protect their pack BECAUSE THEY ARE FAMILY MEMBERS AND WILL PASS ON THEIR GENES. Domestic dogs have no pack and are usually kept as lone pets. So they are loyal to their owners because they treat them as part of their pack. The only reason dogs cower when you discipline them is because you are dominant over them, you tell it off as you are its leader. If your dog was dominant then it would likely be very badly behaved, and would attack anything it sees as on its territory and as a lower rank to them (hence why puppies are naughty, they are trying to gain a rank in the household). It is cruel to put an animal in prison, but if you let a dog that has attacked and killed a child live then it will assume that it is allowed to do that and will likely do it again. It has been proven by analysing many animals brainwaves that no animal (besides some other primates and cetaceans) is able to make conscious descisions. They don't know right from wrong, they do what suits them at the time. Even if that means mauling a child or another animal. The world may seem all sunshine and rainbows but it is a cruel world. Behind the pretty feathers and snuggling up together at night, animals compete and kill each other in order to live and pass on their genes, there has been no other way. We conscious beings believe that all this killing is wrong and cruel, and I agree that killing for sport and other things is pointless but life has survived this way and has evolved from bacteria by elimination of weakness.

Good point, Aicebo, i was going to say that but not everyone here believes in God. But i know for a fact that in many religions that god put most animals on earth so that we CAN eat them and so that we CAN hunt them, but thats religion....

BTW, i think Animals would rather you kill them peacefully (with morphe) than lock them up for the rest of their lives, especially if like Pheonix said, they dont know what they have done.
Humans on the other hand, have very developed minds. THey know what they have done wrong and think about it. THat is why we give Humans a second chance, because they have thought about what they have done, or atleast some do. THe ones who dont should stay in their for a while longer. erial killers should die!

Re: Am I the only one worried about the world these days ???????

reddragon 12 so you would rather an animal be treated like a human and locked up if it did something wrong? If a human does something wrong then they are monitored by police for their entire remaining life. It is cruel to control what an animal does all its life, it would be miserable. For example dogs enjoy playing with children and other dogs. If it killed a child and was given a second chance it would still want to play with children but you would watch it closely all of the time and it would never get to play with them like it used to, also if it was in the mood for it it would likely attack another one because as its done it before it would assume its OK to do that. Don't get me wrong with all that I have been saying. I love animals, as I always have done. But I do not think that they should be treated as people, because they aren't people. Animals do not think like humans, they do not know about other people and animals rights and personal space, my dog Ozzy bounding into the bathroom this morning as I was getting out of the shower is a prime example. He was just happy to see me, he didn't know that I didn't really want him jumping around me at the time and it made no difference to him. While I believe life is sacred, everything has the right to live, I also believe that an animal is an animal, it is not a human and they don't want to be treated like us. Its considered cruel to dress a dog up in clothes and treat it like a baby. It isn't a baby and I doubt it really enjoys being dressed up in itchy hot clothes when its got its own fur.

And on family you mean kicking them out when they're adults?
Some animals were made to eat.
They reproduce so that they'll always be more food.
Besides, not every animal is slaughtered.
