Re: Computer going crazy.
Windows XP runs on a very weak system. Vista, however, may lag down systems.
Do you have any anti-virus installed? Are they updated every day?
EDIT: If you have Vista, BE SURE TO INSTALL SERVICE PACK 1. THIS CORRECTS A VISTA GLITCH WHERE YOUR COMPUTER GOES HORRIBLY SLOW.

Re: Computer going crazy.
I have AVG for my Anti-virus, ZoneAlarm for my firewall and Spybot for my extra cleaners. They work well.
Be sure to update the anti-virus and extra cleaners at least once a week. Firewalls can stay for months.
The security system I have is totally built out of free downloads.

Re: Computer going crazy.
Though there are some "paid" parts on the security system, like the two internet routers at the basement. :s
But, yes, free it is. ![]()

Re: Computer going crazy.
The routers transmit the internet to my laptop wirelessly.
Anyway, I'm the system admin and I control all the internet in the house, so my parents can't access this site. Or the DoDR. Heheheh...

Some programs are glitchy and can cause the taskbar to disappear.
Press the windows button (between CTRL and ALT) on the keyboard and it *may* restore the taskbar.

NO! I paid for the hardware! To buy the routers! Not to transmit or receive!

Re: Computer going crazy.
I've got XP Home Edition SP 2 with Symantec AntiVirus and Spyware Doctor, and no, the windows button doesn't work, the startbar literally crashes. It doesn't if I look at my folders with a program's open or save function, and yes, my comp is up to date and my AV is too, Spyware Doctor almost never gets updated because the company doesn't release many.

If it never gets updated, seriously, trash it. An outdated security system has no protection at all.
I'm using this for my Anti-Spyware: Spybot S/D

Re: Computer going crazy.
Well that may be the case, but if I did...I'd get in a wholop of trouble, and it does work...all the ads I see infect me with advertising SWs and SpyDr. takes them right off. But yea, if I can't get this fixed, I'll resort to a complete Computer Rebuild...although I'd lose craploads of stuff, it'd help.

Re: Computer going crazy.
P.S: Be sure to have a firewall. That filters your internet at the first place and stops hackers and viruses from coming in the first place.
