Mk well it was down when I posted.
@Martial Arts Spyro You'll find that wiki is actually very accurate for 99% of the time. The other 1% is for minor articles and grafittee

o_o
And where did you get that?
A wikipedia article?
Sometimes I just read articles on things I already know a lot about and just laugh whenever I run into something that's painfully wrong. Which is very. Very. Often.

Quoted for truth.
Sora knows what he's talking about. Wikipedia is a terrible information source, most of the info on that site is either out of date or just simply put, wrong. And if you try to alter it and make it right, it just gets reverted back to the incorrect version because some fool who works on it thinks you are vandalising.
Horrible.

Re: Wikipedia is down :o
Actually, that's not entirely true. Wikipedia is actually very reliable in articles that are related to phobias and other psychological things, legends, scientific information such as theories and formulas, mathematical terms, and history. And Wikipedia is actually very meticulous about keeping things truthful. For example: a college student once tested a thesis of his where news reporters used Wikipedia as a source of information for their stories as opposed to interviews. It was about a renowned French artist who had died recently.
The college student placed a false, though very believable quote on the artist's biography several times, citing it as something the artist had actually said. The news reporters fell for the trap, and used the false quote, while Wikipedia took it off within five minutes of the quote's addition each and every time. The only articles you will find that are wrong are usually about obscure topics that are not common knowledge. If you want to see things that are just plain wrong, go to Uncyclopedia (though it's simply a satirical site, parodying Wikipedia). Or Encyclopedia Dramatica. Those two are far more ludicrous than Wikipedia could ever be.

Re: Wikipedia is down :o
Wikipedia has footnotes throughtout the entire webpage and vadalism is very easy to spot because of the system that they use where everything added or deleted is documented.

They mark EVERYTHING as vandalism, whether it is or isn't. It is a terrible website, claiming true information is not "notable" or some other stupid rubbish and then alter it back again. If you try to add a page for a celebrity that isn't there, they will delete it 50% of the time. I hate them.

Perhaps they delete it because the edits are suspect and they wish to find more evidence before making any drastic changes, hm? My English teachers say that Wikipedia is fine to use if it's on a solid thing that's well-known. Using it for things that isn't can cause errors in information, but that's because it's not in public knowledge. Using it for things that aren't well known is a person's decision; if the person gets wrong information it's their fault for taking a gamble.
