I have never been that much of a fan of his music, but he inspired a lot of people with his music, including a lot of pop and dance artists and bands. His dance moves, too.

I'm sick of people that are bashing him, especially now that he's dead. You should have done that when he was still around. He's not here anymore and it's a terrible thing to do. Everyone makes mistakes.

He did a lot of good in the music industry, and I'm sure he even has in unknown bands and artists that are out there today.

Yes he was very inspiring to many many people but now the bashers had better stop since he is gone.

Despite some screw ups in his later years, I respect him as an artist and listen to many of his works. Anybody who still wants to bash him is just going to wind up making a fool of themselves. <.>

This is very sad. He died at only 50. And imagine the people with tickets going to the London concert that would have been held pretty soon...

I didnt like him or his music, but he was a good singer i have to admit though, im not going to miss him however as its just another celebrity, just a shame that the talent he had ended so early, kinda like what happened with elvis, except elvis died on the toilet....

I didn't like him much either, in fact I though he was a bit mental, but it is sad to see him go and he was only 50. It's not very old at all and it's quite scary...

Yeah, I agree completely with SpyroMaster and Saphira. The main thing about him that annoyed me was all the cosmetic surgery he had done to himself. I could never help but wonder why the hell he did it when he was really good looking before, he pretty much just looked really freaky for the rest of his career after that.
On saying that though, the music he did wasn't half bad, not my kind of music but I could happily listen to it. Not to mention his awesome dancing.... But, the pressures of being famous are likely what led him to feel insecure about himself and made him decide to have the plastic surgery. And must have, ultimately, led to his death.
'Another one bites the dust', some may say, its just a shame in was in the way it was. Not a particularly nice way to die, and waaay too early. I think it was less about the pressures being famous and more over chemotherapy for his skin cancer though. I read a lot about how he was stressing about what it would do to him, which did get on my nerves as he's not the first to have chemotherapy. I know its a traumatising time, but my Nanna and my sister's friend (who was 12) have had cancer and the resulting chemo/radiotherapy that goes with it, and they barely moaned.

Vitiligo was already bleaching his skin; blotches of pale skin on his dark skin didn't exactly look appealing. So while he was having cosmetic surgery done on his nose and chin, he told them to bleach his skin period, to make the color more consistent.

Yeah, I think I've already heard that. I didn't like the idea that he bleached his skin, but I knew it looked better with it all bleached. What I hated was why he had the plastic surgery in the first place. After a couple of years his new nose and the rest of it collapsed, so he ended up looking.... Well, silly. But I'm not going to bash him for it now, it doesn't matter anymore....

Heh, you know how Michael has portrayed himself as an eccentric (The monkey, the oxygen chamber etc.)? Well, apparently, you can't get a refund on his new show, you have to go to the memorial. Well, just a thought, but maybe, just maybe, there'll be a coffin, and suddenly, it'll open, and Michael will sing "Thriller".

He didn't bleach his skin, Blaze is right. To be honest, Michael tried to make his image an eccentric one, and once the press started, they just refused to stop.

Also, what will happen to Bubbles, his monkey?

You know, the whole reason that MJ seemed to be a creepier person and a pedophile was because of his surgeries; if he still had his original face and skin, he wouldn't have seemed near as bad.

I'm still shocked over the whole thing.

He had some great song and his dancing was epic. He looked incredibly creepy in his later years however...lets just try and remember him for his good qualities thou instead of the bad.

it really sucks he died. i used to not like him because he was a nutjob with a nose that was slowly falling off.

but as i heard more about him, now i see why he's like he is. his dad was REALLY mean to him and his brothers. and just think. the guy never had a childhood really. he spent his whole youth doing music. never had a chance to just have fun like most of us. there was some other stuff too. he just had a lot of not-happy stuff in his life. =/ how sane and secure do you expect someone to be.

On a lot of forums I go to, there are a few comments here and there that go something to the likes of "One less pedophile in our society now."

Now while his life was going downhill, I think people need to remember what he did accomplish and not the things that made him infamous, now that he's deceased. It was the music industry he changed, and that's what matters.
