Military Vehicles
You say what you think are the best military vehicles ever, a list if you want. Here's mine, from least to greatest:
10. Panavia Tornado ADV (United Kingdom / Germany / Italy)
9. IAI Lavi (Israel)
8. Stryker
7. Mil Mi-24 Hind (Russia)
6. Typhoon class (Russia)
5. Improved Nimitz class
4. Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit
3. Lockheed Martin / Boeing F-22 Raptor
2. Boeing AH-64D Longbow Apache
1. M1A2 Abrams
That is my opinion list.

Re: Military Vehicles
I'm afraid you're not really including much of the last 100 years of human history. I could go way back to the times of Ancient civilizations but for now I'll just stick to modernization and up.
10. Iowa Class Battleship (BB-63 U.S.S. Missouri)
9. de Havilland Mosquito
8. B-52 Stratofortress
7. Panzer IV
6. AH-64 Apache
5. M1A1 Abrams
4. Bismark/Tirpitz (primarily Bismark)
3. Panzer VI Tiger I
2. T-34
1. Panzer V Panther
Hard to make a good list with so many awesome examples.

Sorry, but I felt like making a list of modern military vehicles. But here is a military vehicle.

The great Russian Mil Mi-24 Hind Attack helicopter.

Re: Military Vehicles
You guys are insane if you don't include any of the German technology from WW2, and the T34 seriously all of them were way ahead of their times and certainly more effective then the M-4 Sherman ![]()

Re: Military Vehicles
Never said they were the best. Just my favorites.
The German Tiger and American Greyhound are also two of my favorite
WWII ground vehicles. But I prefer the Sherman and it's other versions
more than anything else. The Sherman Firefly is nice.

Re: Military Vehicles
BMP-2 was designed in case of Nuclear War and is a anti-personel vehicle.

RDX: Yup, one of the main reasons we used Sharmans in WWII was because they were cheap and relatively quick to make, I'm pretty sure. As for the T-43, I agree fully, it was amazing from wht I've learned about it.
Grievous: Also, if you wanted only modern military vehicles, maybe that should have been included in your title or first post. And the "best vehicle ever' part was pretty misleading if you only wnated modern, lol.

Shermans may have been cheap, but they kicked the enemy's butt.

this far without our trusty allies.

Re: Military Vehicles

Ummm not really. The Shermans were only effective against the Panzer IV BARELY.
They couldn't even stand up to them somewhat until they improved some of them with the longer barrel. The Shermans were poorly designed to include the gas and Ammo towards the rear of the tank. This led to many fires that would take them out of action with one shot.
The only reason the Shermans are considered great is because of the high amount that were made....which was over 60,000 units. While the Germans for example made only 1,500 Tiger tanks. Then they also had to stand up against the Russian T-34 which was light years away from the Sherman as well.
All and all German technology was better then anything else at that time. They proved it in just about every single field. Even their manpower was superior enough that they managed to hold off most of the world and still almost won.
Even the MG-42 is still in use today. No I'll take the German military equipment over American any day during that time.

Re: Military Vehicles
Well, then I will simply leave myself as just liking them in general. They
may have sucked compared to the Germans, but I still like them.
Shermans were made into flamethrowers, howitzers, etc. Other tanks
may have been also, but Shermans have always been my favorite.

Re: Military Vehicles
They were versatile and easy to make yes but I don't think they would have had any huge impact had it not been for the high amounts of them produced. I just know for a fact that the German machinery played much more of an impact on history...and not including them at all on any list of successful military vehicles is suicide.
Then again...If this list is about personal preference it really doesn't matter.

Re: Military Vehicles
Hmm, I don't know about many vehicles, but I found the A-10 to be impressive. Heavily armored, stable at low speeds, and has a terrifying main gun.

Yes the warthog is an extremely devastating weapon. Still the best tankbuster we have to this day.
