Re: Please delete this post.
Yes and we can always thank the wonderful media for distracting us from much more important things. Even now that people are freaking out over this whole useless pandemic if you just washed your hands and went about your daily business per usual things would get pretty back to normal.
No though...things have to be blown out of proportion just so that they have something to distract the masses. Why don't they do a story about all the people killed in car accidents then....combine that with NORMAL flu victims and you get about....70,000 people.

I'm glad that I had that horrible flu because now I never get sick unless it's directly related to allergies.

Re: Please delete this post.
The chance of you getting the swine flu is less than 2%, the chance of you dying is less than .05%
Well if 1,000,000 ppl get it then thats 500 ppl dying. Mind you a million ppl fist have to get it xD. But anyone else remember bird flu? The media was going crazy over that and something like 20 ppl died in Indonesia and then suddenly it was gone and noone cared at all. I rekon that this swine flu will be the same deal

Just because you had the flu, doesn't mean you won't get it again. You won't get that strand of the flu, but there are thousands of strands you could get. ![]()

I'm just suprised none of you people know all this biology. It's basic stuff...
It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living.

Re: Please delete this post.
Look, DNA and strands are part of basic biology. It's like saying, "I know how to drive, I just don't know how to park."
Also, let's face it, we faced the black plague. As a population we're tougher than dying to this pathetic virus.
Yay! Specie pride!

Stormy wrote:Anyway, you can get updates on the Swine Flu from this site. Apparently it's at pandemic level now.
Actually, WHO states that we're at stage 5, which is a level below pandemic level. Stage 6 is pandemic level, which we're not at yet (well hopefully not at all).
Keep in mind that it's too early to tell the full effects of the swine flu. The Spanish flu of 1918 started off mild just like this situation here. We still don't know a lot about the pig-bird-human flu.
Hm, that's strange; we looked at it in one of my classes the other day and it was definitely at the highest stage then.... Eh, whatever. =P

Yes I am scared. And my recomendation is wash your hands every time you go to the bathroom and before and after every meal.
When I was at gymnastics yesterday, I'm always the first one, I told my teacher "We're all gonna die!". She was like "I know!". (she's 16)

Oooh, lolz! XD
Swine flu will probably go the same way as Brd flu did as well as Foot and Mouth in the UK. It likely won't turn out as bad as the news and predictions say it will.

Re: Please delete this post.
The reason many people are freaked out is because they're already in a fragile state of mind, and the media just keeps on feeding and feeding them the same information so it seems like it's getting worse. Thank you 24-hour news.

Re: Please delete this post.
lol... i liked the post about the surviving the black plague...
Sometimes a bad plague has to go through to make sure that the Human race doesn't get too weak. Then once something really bad happens then all of the good genes are too far spread thin and billions die rather than 10 cases where 15 million die... lol... j/k
You have to admit though that I have a little bit of a point.

Re: Please delete this post.
My teacher said that in Egypt they killed over 30,000 pigs because of fear of the swine flu. When in fact he hasn't heard of any pig dying from this in the past month or so.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

I said no but two people living less than 10 miles away from me have it but I bet they were put into quarantine when it was discovered. I'm not sure about the other states but California has about 6 or 7 cases for the whole state and I'm near two of those :s Don't infect me bro!

Re: Please delete this post.
An Ad? Why? Isn't there something better that they can do with that money?...
Like give it to me...
Well I guess they could donate it to finding a CURE! That would do more I think than an ad that doesn't help at all...
Mabey scaring people though.

Hmm... 32 Billion people... didn't the News say that it was a mixture of human and animal viruses, and it mutates when it gets inside you, so it becomes harder to find?
Catch it - Hmm... I'll go to Mexico and catch the Swine Flu!
Bin it - Um, okay... (jumps into a bin)
Kill it - SPARTA!!! (commits suicide with a knife)
