Re: Music

Yeah, but Axel's voice is just annoying. Civil War and November Rain are my favourite songs of their's.

Re: Music

I like a couple of Ozzies' songs. Crazy Train and I Don't Want to Stop are two of my favorites.

Re: Music

Today's music is getting quite bad and not to mention cliche. If I watch The Hits channel or listen to the radio, most songs that come on are from artists I've never even heard of... I like some music from the 70s and 80s. I LOVE ABBA!!!  big_smile Queen's also pretty good, and U2. But today most music sounds the same, by VERY similar artists.

But artists I do especially like in today's charts are Ne-Yo, Leona Lewis, Take That and The Killers.

Re: Music

Ugh...
To people who are hating on modern music; you are clearly not searching hard enough. You can't blame the music industry for what's currently the latest fad or what's mainstream. There's lots of good stuff out there, but you're all too lazy to find it.

I didn't say I hated it, it's just that none of it really appeals to me. It's good, but...

Re: Music

There's probably tons of music genres that you've never even heard of if you're just judging by what's on the radio or what's on TV.

Re: Music

lol another argument but who cares.. any how....

I didn't much like any modern music until I found this station here on the radio (99.7 The rock) they played all of this older music and then they miked in new rock with the Classic Rock... The new rock when ever you get the right song can blend right in so long as it isn't the steriotypical mainstream music then it isn't all of that bad.. some of it is pretty good actually

Same here. That's why I listen to Creed and Alter Bridge. Some of Oasis.

Take "In Loving Memory" from Alter Bridge for an example. Mike
Tremonte [their guitarist] has his own original style. He's an influence to
me and my style of guitar playing. His style made me a better guitarist.

I don't care much if anyone dislikes the bands. I know that they are not
the best band on Earth, but I love their music. Most of it is original.

[Creed and A.B. are the same band, with a different singer]

"Lullaby" by Creed

Re: Music

Nothing wrong with that at all. I def prefer oldies and Classic rock to most things today.

Hahaha. No, Aicebo. I listen to many. But Creed and Alter Bridge are my
main bands. Yes, I do listen to them a lot, but they are not my only
favorite band.

Are there any people here that find independent bands favorable? I do,
since they are not pressured to play the style of music that either society
or the record studio wants them to play. I believe that independent bands
have the ability to play the music in which they want to play.

[I like oldies, too.]

Re: Music

^Yes, but you're calling ALL new music "bad". There are plenty of independent bands out there, and many of them are my favorites, such as Aiden. William Control is definitely an independent project because it many interviews he's said that he doesn't care if people like it or not, and he HOPED that alot of people hated it. Lots of bands I know, probably more than half, are independent and play their own style, but many people here seem to think that ALL new music from this century is terrible when barely ANY of you actually pay attention to it and what's really out there and base it off of what the newest singles on MTV are.

Re: Music

I would suppose that we are all on the side of music that if we don't hear it we won't go looking for it... Stick with the tried and proven... There is much out there that I haven't heard out there and I suppose that it might well be good but I haven't much an idea as to how to find it.

Re: Music

Oh, I have heard a large chunk of it. I don't dislike music until I hear it
myself. Every day my class rides to Dual Credit, Rebecca and Hannah
[girls in my class] turn on their rap / pop music. All they sing about is
guys rubbing the girls butts, getting 'turned on', blah blah sex blah. Love.

It's mostly junk. Then, there is the lyrics about death, being depressed
and other sad condiments that would put some people down.

You are allowed to like it all you want, but I hate that music with a
passion.

Re: Music

That is nowhere near a huge chunk of today's modern music. You are wrong.

In fact, there is a band that started about 15 days ago that I think you might enjoy. Please listen to them all the way through before making an opinion 15 seconds in.

Re: Music

I would actually tend to dissagree and say that, that is a large chunck.

Arguments over such topics are mute points anyhow.... not all new music is bad though
