Alright, folks. So the Conficker.C worm is going to be launched tommorrow. I was shocked to find that alot of people here and on the forums I use have not gotten protection for their computers. This is very important, you guys.

The conficker is a very serious virus that has infected over 9 million computers worldwide. This worm can access financial information and render an infected computer useless. Once infected by the virus your computer will become unable to download the programs needed to destroy the risk and conficker will continue to run rampant on your hard drive.

Conficker can be passed on to other computers without them even interacting. It can infect USB devices such as flash drives, mp3 players, and other USB storage devices. For more information on the virus and how to protect your computer visit http://www.microsoft.com/protect/comput … icker.mspx .

Here's a list of programs and links to the downloads that will help your computer fight the Conficker.C worm:

Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool cannot be downloaded after your computer is infected. If your computer becomes infected, perform the full scan. Can be downloaded at http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwa … fault.mspx

Windows updates. If you're a windows user, I HIGHLY suggest you update regularly.

McAfee stinger is a standalone Spyware remover and is very useful in protecting against serious viruses like conficker. Can be downloaded here: http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwa … fault.mspx

To members who are younger, please take the time to inform your parents and have them install and run these programs.

Ah ive heard of this, i best get my dad to upload them as i think something might go catastrophically wrong if I did it lol XD

It will be launched on April 1st, downloading an update to itself. No one knows what it will be set to do, but what it has done in the past was attempting to break SSL certificates.

Ah fair point there, i heard from my dad though as he keeps track of viruses ,(as his job in detecting fraud, is with technology), told me today that its getting shut down in the next couple of days as people are already on to it.

It is Wednesday, April 1st, 11:11PM. No virus yet.
I have Norton 360 on my computer, so I think I'm fine. My dad bought it,
and put the 30-day trial on my PC. It's some good stuff. It saved my PC
from destruction late last year. It's like Meth for your PC. But without the
bad side-effects. Hmm... okay... not like Meth.
