Nahka, GM alone is capable of only 3,000 polys, I'm rendering 40,000 without problem... Yes, GM is bad, but I'm not relying on GM for the engine, only the structure of the game and the coding. I'm using something else for all the time-consuming calculations and the rendering. And enough of that, I'm capable of making this work. (No, it's not my first 3D game)

Ontels, I'm not going to drop this project. I'm going to continue and make this as good as I can.

And Anvil, any chance you could reply to the mail I sent you a long time ago?

As a final note, who said a game must look like Crysis or Killzone 2 to be fun? How many enjoyed "Spyro the Dragon", and before that, "Banjo Kazooie"?

Spyro and Banjo-Kazooie game are awsome, but still do what you feels best Hepolite if you want to contiue using your game program then continue, that screenshot of your game that I seen looked good, so why change different programs if your already doing good, huh?

lol guys... I'm happy with anything that looks like Mario from a single amature programer... The shot's look decent and even if the game isn't good (which I doubt it will be bad) then at least you could say that you tried. And honestly from my experiance else where I'd know that the difference in programming code would only be preferance as long as they can do the same...

I always say that it is best to stick with what you know... Ironicly that's why I'm not going to say anything about GM being bad or good or going deeper into any coding argument.

I can't help pitying this generation... I said it before and I'll say it again since it's simple and direct. I don't care how it looks but how it functions. Sure the newer games have better graphics but is that all everybody is worried about? I would think texture artists would get a good salary off of that. It's a video game after all so you need something to look at. Sounds, physics, and other logic is just as vial... well, maybe not sound but I get tired of hearing the same sound effects that I heard in other games.

I'm more about the gameplay. I still play old games like Descent where you fly around in a ship that can go in six different directions which takes 3D thinking to a new level. The graphics are old school but the gameplay concept is something I rarely see. An FPS yeah but one you really have to be innovative to get the drop on the enemy since they can move in six degrees of freedom too. In fact, I could talk about this all day when you could see it for yourselves on youtube.

The graphics can be in 16-bit for all I care. As long as no bugs like textures randomly popping all over the screen when they're not suppose to then I'll play it. The next generation wants to evolve... so can't you think of something besides graphics? How about intelligence? (This isn't attended as an insult but just a reality check)

I agree with you Trasher, graphics isn't everything. The gameplay is (to me) the most important thing. Since I'm not able to make a great-looking game, I'll try to counter that with something else. I'm hoping I can add a lot of puzzles and interesting battles, but we'll see if the time is on our side. There's a lot of things that must be done, textures, art and models... Maybe I have to push the demo into July... sad

Pushing things back is never bad. Can't do anything but help the overall quality in the end. Do you have someone working on the story?

Right... Activity, really high these days...

So, due to the lack of a modeler (The current is busy with real life and I can't get that good-looking result), I can not release a demo. Therefor I must cancel the ETA, and rather say that I will release a beta instead. It will not feature a part of the story, but only showing of the "gameplay". This means that the voicers and artists will not receive any tasks in the near future. Also, I'm not able to continue in the speed I did, I have other things running around that has higher priority.

I was having that feeling it wouldn't be in June... its too soon. Oh, and releasing an early beta (or release candidate) already? It's a good idea to test the game out frequently to make sure everything so far is functioning properly. Needless to say if it is for testing purposes then I wouldn't publicly release it to everybody (password protection comes in handy sometimes) ... but it's your call.

I can understand you being busy so I'll be doing my thing... chil'axing and probably working on my multi-story script I got going on for something so... yeah. I'll be checking back frequently as well if anything comes up.

I'll try to squeeze in some time where I can, so I'll at least get forward. Until today, I managed to over-write a model file, so I'm sent back a lot, unless I can find that backup... Now where's that link...? (I'll find it, don't worry!) *EDIT* Found it!

And Trasher, you might be right about that, the demo won't be in June, but I'll try to get the beta out. I'm trying to fix up this animation issue I have. This basically means a total re-write of that part. Yoy <_<
So... One major problems to solve. No problem wink
