Youtube Upload Trouble
Well, recently I haven't been able to get a video up onto Youtube, and I was wondering if this was happening to anyone else.
There are two uploaders: The new Beta uploader (The one that usually works for me), and the normal uploader (which always locks up my computer).
My problem is that the Beta uploader won't even begin to even try to start uploading a video. Apparently I have very fast upload speed on my computer as well. I've tried on both Firefox 3, and Internet Explorer.
Does anyone know why this might be, and maybe find a way to help? (I know the file type is not the problem; I have uploaded videos with it before.)

Re: Youtube Upload Trouble
The file needs to be a WMM file; and it won't work if you just change the file name. You have to click "Save to my computer" or, in your case, "Publish to my computer", and wait for it to finish saving. Then you can upload it.

I did that already though. It won't upload any of my videos, even the ones that came straight off my digital camera. (Sorry, you're probably getting sick of hearing my complaints about Youtube...)
Maybe it's a glitch?

I haven't uploaded anything for a while now. But WMV or AVI both work. I use the Beta uploader since it tells you the progress in that blue bar at the top. Does yours show the bar? How big is your file?
PS Oh you probably sent me a YT invite. I'll be on probably Tuesday after I finish everything.

Re: Youtube Upload Trouble
Well, my problem before was that the Beta uploader didn't even bring me to where you can save the preferences of the video. No blue bar, the page didn't even show up.
Now, today, whenever I try to upload something, after about a second it says:
"Upload Failed: An unknown error occurred." ....to all my videos. The file types I'm trying to upload are WMV, and AVI. The files are from 32-90 MB. (Files this size usually uploaded fine before)
@Swaffy: o_O That's a lot of work just to upload a few videos...
You may also need:
-Latest JavaScript [Java]
-Adobe Flash Player 10
I don't think I've updated the Adobe Flash in a while; that might be the problem.

Re: Youtube Upload Trouble
Hey DDR, if it's an issue with Windows Movie Maker, I have a video that might help you; I use it all the time, because whenever I restart my computer and try to save something to .wmv the proper way, my WMM freezes. This usually fixes any errors that you might have with the program; it's safe to use and the video has the instructions on what to do: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSvljkRCIg8

Re: Youtube Upload Trouble
i'be been having this problem too, the normal uploader seems to work, though last time there was an unknown error
and NO, its nothing to do with videos. The normal uploader works fine but the Beta upload doesn't respond. Besides, i've ALWAYS used WMV and never had this problem

Hmm, sounds like you have basically the same problem as I do, except for the fact that the normal uploader crashes Firefox, and makes my computer super slow afterward.
Is this what it looks like when you try to use the Beta uploader?
@Aicebo: Thanks; it isn't my problem now, but I'll save that link in case I have trouble later.

Re: Youtube Upload Trouble
It's the beta one. See the link under that says "Take me back to the normal uploader"?
Edit: Hey, it's working on Internet Explorer now. Maybe it'll actually upload the whole thing.
Edit2: It worked. Thanks for enduring all my whining. ![]()
