Re: Dragons being two leged or four
Leave that kinda stuff in the old Crash Bandicoot games lol...keep Spyro and Cynder traditional dragons thank you very much. That's how they are suppose to be.
At least Sierra seems pretty set on that issue....

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
the only two reasons i wouldn't want to see a dragon on two legs is because
-they should remain four legged. two legs is to animated
-it would look weird

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
And seeing as how the older games were much more animated then the new ones in terms of characters and such it's not wonder why Spyro could do the things he could in the Insomniac days.

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
Well in terms of the old games...and it was an older Spyro...I could see that...but in LoS no way...nor in the originals in his true younger form. One of the things I did like about LoS was the look they gave him...much more like a classical dragon in some ways...

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
No Skool like the Old Skool, giving spyro the classic, eureopean drake look, was a definite YES for TLoS, and i would like to see that continue, however another part of me can't help but wonder what they would do with a bipedal spyro...

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
Nothing because it's going to sit in the past where it rightly belongs lol...even though we never even got to see what exactly Spyro would have looked like in his older form.

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
[/off topic\]well, he would be large, and purple, and most probably scaly
[/back on topic\] a bipedal spyro would draw a slightly different crowd as well, but the past should definitely stay where it is yes

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
Yes it might draw fans of the old games back...and that's not really what Sierra is into I'm afraid. They displayed that all well and fine when the launched LoS to begin with.

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
You know if a dragon tied to stand up i wouldn't be surprised as i see humanoid reptiles in a lot of movies and games.
Through seeing spyro like that wearing a jacket and such would be nuts lol
Then again i did see a picture of spyro somewhere on art where he was standing dinosaur style

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
Well yeah you will find a freaking thousand examples of that out there....a lot of earlier fanfictions had him doing a lot of stuff that was more humanoid oriented rather then actual dragon behavior....such as wielding swords, guns, armor, all that jazz.

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
Considering the original world was bizarre and cartoonish I don't really see that as anything strange; dragons shouldn't really have an exception in cartoons from other animals. It's like the old days when Jerry would take out an impossibly huge mallet on Tom.

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
There have been a bunch of fics like that...but Kazoobie is right in terms of it still being related to a cartoon like universe so stuff like that is perfectly reasonable to a degree.....heck the first three games more then prove that...but for those dragon fans who like tradition and whatnot it really wasn't their cup of tea...

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
I beleive it is personal preference, or maybe what clan they belong to, like beast makers, dream weavers etc. And young dragons acn't walk fuly for prolonged periods of time on two legs... maybe four legged dragons may be a different sub species of dragon, and maybe this information could have been lost at some point in the dragons past and they didn't think about it much, did they?
Like the dragons never said anything about why or how soem dragons stood on two legs and others on four, did they?
But that's just my theory...
